The shortest job

I came here two months ago from another insurance company because I thought the situation in SF was at least a little better. What a mistake! I have never stayed at a job for such a short time and I was embarrassed when I gave notice. I don't know if there is anyone else who stayed here even shorter?

@2zio Is the company holding you in some dark basement tied to your computer? Why don't you submit a letter of resignation? That should definitely provide you a solution to get out of the company.

@2UD jokes on me, my du—s can’t get out of here to save my life. It’s like once you’re employed here you are stuck and or have the cooties nobody wants.

I don’t even want to move up, I want out!

Seriously I feel like I get stereotyped as another co–y over confident, du—s adjuster when I do these interviews.

It is better to have walked away as soon as you realized it wasn't for you rather than prolonging the agony. I walked out of a job with Wells Fargo bank within 2 weeks as soon as I realized I was going to be working for the subprime predatory lending division. Nothing wrong with knowing what you don't want and have a moral compass.

I remember the .com b–m. Heck! The turnover was crazy exponential high. SF stayed its course, allowed the turnover, and continued to disrespect the talent that was keeping their promise. Many stayed because the believed in their mission and vision statements and continued with a well developed work ethic. Today it's a very different story. They believe the generation today will have that same drive. Unfortunately, focusing on numbers and metrics instead of customer service and accuracy of job, they will continue to forgo the talent and business they once had. Time is something they will never be able to control and can have lasting negative outcomes to every business.

To the people puzzled as to why OP left so quickly, you must remember this: you have probably been at SF for years, meaning all of the awfulness that we see today you have had years to gradually get used to. When things were actually good years ago and they would take away one good thing or make a change, it wasn’t so much of a big deal. But over time, all those good things they slowly took away or changes they made have really added up. To new people coming to SF from a place that is halfway decent, it must be a total shock to come into an organization with outdated technology, ridiculous metrics, poor training, and just a miserable work environment overall.

No I don’t condone you one bit, I adjust only for benefits the paycheck is merely laughable compared to my net worth , I also freelance skills I’d rather have State Farm not know I have like full stack developing. It’s something I enjoy doing for a purpose, not putting up with others tech debt.

You’re going to find out most people that work in insurance are pretty boring and bland.

I went over a year hating it here, then I realized the less I care the better off it is. Seriously you could offer me a 100k+ a year job at the farm. I wouldn’t take it I really enjoy not having to talk to many people outside of smart higher end customers. It’s like talking to myself at times. Says a lot about management also!

SF is thinking they will get the same work ethic they once got. Sorry, it isn't going to happen. Things will not calm down for a long time.

Why couldn’t you manage at least a little bit longer? If you had experience, it’s pretty lame if you couldn’t do the job. Or was it something else?

and yes, there are many that can’t handle it after training ends and they leave less than two months after they go live.
