Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Layoffs soon in Collab

Cisco Collaboration will have a big layoff. Notifications on November 17th, with exits by January 10th. Amazing that the only people not losing jobs are the leaders that led to market share fall in the last 5 plus years.

AR's priority is promoting AR. She lacks curiosity and basic competence. She's scared of things she doesn't understand, which is a lot.

JP came in and set all strategy. Win or lose... very little was done with out his direction or consent.

Look back at his career... do you think he had the marketing knowledge to actually be dictating how Webex was put to the world?

They brought in someone untested who might know SaaS products, but he know nothing about creating a brand that moves product in a B2B world.

Yelling "Make it like Apple" was his Best/Worst contribution.

Can someone who’s currently on Leave of Absence be laid off too in absentia?

"HR started the Talent Movement Solutions tool (TMS) to encourage reduction of force away from Collab and towards other architectures, specifically Security."

By all means, come to Security. Can't keep the seats filled as it's a revolving door.

I really hope this isn't a surprise to anyone in Collaboration. Immediately after IMPACT, HR started the Talent Movement Solutions tool (TMS) to encourage reduction of force away from Collab and towards other architectures, specifically Security. Most of Collab, outside of the PSS/TSA community, were added to TMS. However, the TMS program isn't the only path to correct the size of the workforce though. If not enough people move from Collab to other architectures naturally through TMS, other action is necessary. Any/all positions will likely be scrutinized. The closer you are to the customers, the safer you may be.

It’s already happening in EMEAR. Basically Collab hired too many people during Covid to try and regain some business from Zoom MSTeams. Now there’s no revenue coming in they have to go.

@1rzl+1jeSLehT Jeff S as CEO? The man has the charisma of a pot plant. He’ll never make CEO even if, as alleged, he’s Chuckles best bud.

a lot are still using Call Manager. The question is what is the next platform they migrate to. For 2/3 the answer to that question is MS Teams for remote work and "good enough" voice/phones.

The execs responsible will get credit for "partnering" with MS Teams, not surrendering. Now let me get back to my Zoom lunch with the in-laws.

We are a software company, we are a software company, we are a software company.
We announce that we provide hardware to enable MS teams to have a seamless experience... ohhh wait a minute.. we are a software company.
Collab is dead and running it's last legt. MS is like China in geopolitics, we can delay, but the inevitable is coming this centennium or the next

Of course there will be layoffs in Collab! Cisco just announced full support of Microsoft Teams on all of their gears. This is a blatant acknowledgement of surrender that their Webex policies have failed and they are capitulating to MS. Now, its time for the minions to pay the price for that, while the execs who really are responsible gets either a free ride or a golden parachute. The same ago-old Cisco story.

Cisco Collab will have reductions in all countries, not just US. No one is safe (unless you are the above named Exec apparently)

JP will exit to a pasture.. mot sure it will be greener. JEFF S will be next in line for CEO. JP, AR, AND JK all need to go. These 3 led Collab to failure.

If this is true, it’s embarrassing that Cisco Collaboration needs to fire people despite all the COVID tailwinds.

Jeetu is pretty awesome, but for whatever reason he doesn’t have the ba--s to exit Javed, who has presided over Collab’s decline for years
