Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

HCL can’t handle it

Good Morning, just found out at COM that HCL is struggling with the transfer and handling of taking over.
March 2nd was supposed to be last day... however... they said they have to extend because the error rate is in the 80th percentile.

This whole process is a joke

It is ALL about saving money/cutting expenses.

There is NO other option.

The revenue and profit drain each quarter HAS NOT STOPPED, so the critical thing to do is cut expenses, no matter what the impact.

Look at it this way - if your salary or hours at work (revenue) have been decreasing, you're going to cut everything you can (expenses) so you don't get evicted or have your car repossessed.

Yes, there will be negative impacts, like eating less quality but cheaper food, or stopping maintenance on your house or car, or cutting all extras like cable and gym membership. But you have to try and prevent the worse outcome (bankruptcy).

Xerox is doing the same thing. Cutting everything to the bone (IRIF's, rebadging, etc.) to prevent going out of business. Yes, there will be some negative effects, but it's the only option.

HCL is short term plan while they figure out how to get a computer to replace your admin job

The people at the top who make these outsourcing decisions have never valued the people in the admin functions. They have never thought that is was a skilled job or that experience mattered. They have pretty much figured that as long as you have a warm body the job will get done. This scenario has been played out time after time with each new management team and the results only get worse. First it was closing the admin centers & moving the work to cheaper US locations, then “right-shoring”, then outsourcing. The results keeping getting worse with each iteration but look at how much money they have saved!

@2yom
$15 per hour, where do work? try doubling that because that's what this admin person makes
and I am damn well worth it!!!!
So far it's taking 3 people to learn and do my job and they can't even handle 50% of it, so keep your stupid ignorant comments to yourself

@2yom+13Gc7MYo That is a load of sh–! Your comment is ignorant and offensive. Admin staff are just as important to the success of the company as whiny bullies like you. Have fun getting support from people who make $8/hour.

Wish the $15 / hour people would stop posting. XBS admin screwed up more than HCL but we didn't have intelligent enough people to actually hold you accountable. Go find another job and be happ(ier). Keep the forum to people with careers.

HCL was selected because they oversold their capability and Xerox undersold how difficult some of the work is to handle, the offshore teams are not invested in their jobs like the core employees were, our customers are complaining everyday and finding ways to get out of their contracts
You could not write a more pathetic ending to this sh–show of their marriage

@1ysb, you are wrong, HCL signed a 7 year contract with Xerox, but Xerox will be an extinct by then, lol

@1qyu+13Gc7MYo has it right.

Cost reductions are the ONLY things that matter at this point.

Look at the revenue declines. Listen to the multitude of examples from customers and other internal groups about how pathetic our billing or admin support is.

Results don't matter. If HCL was doing the most excellent work we could ever dream of we would still be doomed as a company because the revenue stream is falling like a rock every quarter. And we never diversified, so we're fully dependent on one stream (print) to bring in that declining revenue.

Laid off from HCL as of Jan 2020. I can tell you the offboarding process is just as worse. It is so hard to get answers that are needed. My advice, start looking for other work outside of XRX/HCL and start taking training on things you never thought of before. Get certified in something. YOU WILL NEED IT. Xerox is a bubble and no one really cares what you know in Xerox. Get new skills.

HCL was selected as an FU by The current COO as retribution for his inability to squeeze Wipro into more for less. His side dealings with them did not result in the package he wanted so he sent some work to HCL.

No one really understands the only roles which succeed with offshore providers are those not dependent on quality or delivery schedule. Which they would know if they read current business journals. Perhaps they know, and cost reduction is all that matters.

I still wonder if how HCL was selected If the due diligence was conducted on references from their other large customers. There are so many instances of HCLs screw ups, law suits, etc. all over the web. Was price the factor due to OWN IT. Well congratulations to low cost, sub par performance. If they renew with HCL they deserve worse than the impacts & hits Boeing and others have suffered with HCL.

Since when did HCL begin to care about quality? My experience with many of their teams is that they are hell bent on rushing through every task. All they care about is claiming that they are done without any consideration for quality.

The HCL contract is up in December 2020.
Due to their incompetence and XRX likely being sold off and dismantled don't expect HCL to be around in 2021. IF they are their footprint will be minimal at best. Given the current climate I don't look for XRX to be around either and they will be sold off in whole or in pieces so for those of you still chained to this dinosaur unshackle yourselves and MOVE ON NOW!!!!

Hey now, Xerox spent a sizable amount hiring Ickys hand picked consultant that led to the selection of HCL.

It doesn’t matter if HCL s—s, they will still take your job. This train has left the station.

you haven't seen anything yet, we're past 6 months training these replacements and they F up everything, it's comical at this point.
you will be there if you choose for a while, the error rate is ridiculous, you can tell them word for word exactly what they need to do and they cannot get it right, they have no sense of urgency, some days I just want to scream!
The invoices for all XBS cores outstanding over 60 days past due is astronomical, because let's face it, if you have someone calling for payment who doesn't speak english well or can't answer your question would you give them payment over the phone?
