Picking up from another thread. Of those PIP/PIL’d this year, how many don’t have kids, or have kids that are already on their own? I’m seeing a trend in my neck of the woods that supervisors are PIP/PIL’ing these people because they’ll have less guilt about ruining their lives. Anyone else seeing this?

Think it depends on what hound of he-l you have as a manager
In America you can literally get sacked for anything or nothing 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Those with kids are not spared. Why would they be? In Europe and UK, they cannot sack you over an NSI. So they elect folks with kids to do this to, thinking those piped won’t have an option but to stay and keep taking abuse. It’s win win! The Exxon way
I am childless but not catless 😂. All jokes aside, nobody deserves this bullsh-t pippin' NSI garbage! It's all a sham!
Do you come here to race bait for fun and enjoyment?
@4sog+1nJZKZf0 I didn’t have to crawl back under my desk. I thought about it and what that would look like for my life, and how the stress would probably make me even more sick. Ultimately, I decided my health and well being was far more important than the “benefits” XOM provides.
Instead, I jumped on top of that desk and told everyone that could hear me, “I QUIT!”
Such a toxic work environment, and location - nestled in the armpit of Texas. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. 💨
So sorry you are going through this with cancer. These managers are soulless and the race card is getting really old. Go back to the desk you climbed out from under. Sad part is these are very bad racist people that are in management positions.
When a sociopath gets touchy like this, you know his behavior is just a tough guy act. ❄️
@2sff Or…
I’m just minding my business and doing my job. Try it sometime.
@2lxi I don’t follow your logic.
I’m a sociopath if I don’t know about my colleagues personal lives?
What’s next? Being diagnosed as narcissistic for stopping at stop signs?
More likely a sociopath if you don’t know if your colleagues have kids or not. He’s a straight sho-ter with upper management written all over him.
@2yli If you do t know how many kids your coworkers have, and you’ve worked together more than a year, you’re incredibly dense.
@2mcn EM is over 70% white and 60% male. More Fox News BS from people who know better but keep repeating it anyway.
FYI: No talented person of any race is looking to get into O&G right now. You’re (correctly) viewed as an old-boys club, and there’s no money to be made there anyway.
@OP How would they know about your home life?
The only people who would know anything about your dependents would be the people managing your benefits, and your boss doesn’t do that. The only thing your boss has that would come close would be your emergency contacts.
This claim goes in the same bucket as all the other uninformed conspiratorial BS posted here. Keep your mouth shut about your personal life at work.
Nothing to do with kids or no kids, but all about race, age, and then s-x. Asian males over 40 are first to go followed by white males over 40, then asian females and white females. If you are black, you are safe no matter how incompetent you are, you are the protected class. Asians and whites will do their job and yours until the asians and whites are let go or have had enough and leave.
Despite outstanding performance, they got me with an NSI and I have four children at home, primary wage earner for my family, AND had been diagnosed with cancer 5 years earlier. My problem? I’m a real scientist and spoke truth about environmental sustainability. These managers have NO soul.
From what I’m hearing these ranking groups are cut throat and emotional. Some sups working against others to stay relevant and not based on merit. It’s all self preservation. No easy answers here. I’ll just be glad when I move on.
Nope just basic azz es doing what they do to move up the ladder and look good
If somebody is able to have some guilt for ruining the lives of employees, they would never make it to supervisor. HiPos are thoroughly screened for such ridiculous weaknesses.
We have 3 young kids. The third born earlier in the month. Took a very short PPTO to help my team. Came back and got NI on my first week back. I don’t think there’s any company-wide conspiracy against people w/o kids.
