Now look into his other close buddies/VPs that have been around for 30+….you know who I mean. The one you’ve always questioned behind closed doors……

Ha ha! We’ll deserved. Especially when he smugly showed others the door for lesser offenses. Adios!

All the id--ts running the Company to the ground is a sad story for many 3M people that lost their jobs. If Roman cared he would have taken a pay cut for the next 2-3 years to turn the wrecked ship around but no he didn’t. He doesn’t care about anyone but himself. Worthless just like Vale. Of course the CFO is no better, he is all about BS that will destroy 3M.

Another 50+ white guy that thinks he can have his cake and eat it to. Clearly thought he was untouchable which is just as telling as his pr---------n charges.

Wow, nice to know either Vale's or 3M's PR firms are hard at work. I can't name a single person, who would describe Mike Vale as "good leader" or "fair" or "respectful". Better adjectives would be "ruthless", "brash", "arrogant" and many less polite terms - these coming from people who worked with the man every day.

I assure you that nobody, and I do mean nobody, is going to miss him.

There is a court record from 2001 in Woodbury - take 30 seconds to look it up and make your own determination.

If the comments made on other posts are correct, and this wasn't an isolated "youthful indiscretion" or whatever euphemism you choose, then I would characterize it as a significant breach of our expectations of senior executives at 3M. Ignoring the ethics for a moment and just considering the practical aspects, an executive with this predisposition is bound to cut other ethical corners, exposing the company (and its shareholders and its employees) to undue risk.

All of us have to sign off every year on a variety of ethics and business conduct training topics. Holding our executives accountable in a public way is appropriate, and the degree of scrutiny should be proportionate to both the compensation and the potential negative impact to the organization.

It wasn’t indiscriminate like the rest of the job reductions. He was fired for cause. The ONLY way that happens is if 3M has concrete evidence. They wouldn’t risk it otherwise.

Mike was such a good leader. We are going to miss him. He doesn’t deserve to have his life destroyed after working so hard and contributing so much. This news was an unexpected shock to employees who worked for him, which tells you he was a reputable human being. He was known to be funny, wicked smart and totally professional. I hope he is hired by another great company and not prejudged as is happening with the press.

I’ve worked for Mike Vale. He is a good, decent person who is brilliant. Not sure what the issue was, but it certainly shocked us as he is not that type of person. Always fair, respectful to women. Sad if this is the new woke way. One employee can be the beginning of ruining a career. 3M is a solid company deserving of much higher stock values.

It wasn’t “indiscriminate job reduction” he got caught ‘soliciting’ in Woodbury. Give it another week or so it’ll be in the public arrest records.

How much has Mike made in his career at 3M? He could have retired a decade ago.

Do you think the board and his C suite peers will give him a reference? Mike Fale is still too young to retire. Plus, if you google his name, how does he explain to his new potential employers why he was fired for cause? Maybe he quit before 3M could fire him?

My experience has been even if you have never worked a day in your life, anyone can get 3 references.

Mike was promoted just 3 weeks ago.
I thought we were on the right path.
I bought the trough at $103/share thinking this was an arbitrage opportunity as the true value of 3M is $163/share.

Now this personal position will pummel stock down to a new much lower trough.

Will I ever be able to retire?
