Other than the 98.99% operations/installers/union folks on this site, are there any sales RIFs looming? Looking to buy a house and checking any potential shifts in Lumen sales.

Felt that way for 10 years
If you're depending on a paycheck from Lumen to finance a house, car, college tuition or anything of that sort, then no. There's way too much uncertainty in the company now. It's better to save that money as much as you can.
Sales people liars? No way.
I worked with a few sales VP and they are crooked. They lie on numbers and put pressure on throwing bad trends and numbers under the rug. Many don’t have a clue what the revenue and wtf the costs going out are. They get one good number and you will notice same number being thrown around multiple times for a feel good story, when reality is dire.
@1j6 agree completely. Late last year our AVP required all 30 reps to take every deal in SFDC and move them to “Commit” so his numbers would look good for a meeting with Kate. Then he held is to the fake number and slammed us when we all missed them. Sales management from Ashley on down are the worse in my 26 yr career.
I could have stayed but I could not stand how they treated my friends .. favorites are given the best accounts in sales so they just take reorders they know nothing about technology…they give new hires no chance to survive and if you a person of color or a not a friend of a manager .. they torture you til they show you the door ..so that is the reason there is only so much a person can stand .. these so called sakes managers are horrible people ..they leave field and support to sweep up their lies ..I will never get over how much I hate management of this company and how they ruin people
Self service NAS will be a job ki-ler for Lumen employees. They’ll just retain some customer service reps to fix the mistakes from order orders
@nm Yes, most companies replace reps that under perform…but not at the volume Lumen does. Companies which have quality products and services only need to replace the bottom 20% reps. Because Lumen has neither of those, they rotate out 80% of reps annually. This further erodes customer confidence.
Don't most companies replace sales teams that don't meet quota?
Just become incompetent and your job is safe.
Lumen mostly let’s go people of value and those with fresh ideas that might make company successful. And folks who coast and are under radar continue to survive RIFs
Anyone working for Lumen.
Stay clear from mortgage, auto loan, and set a spending limit to $500 per month.
Funny. Have spent my entire career explaining the sales person “misinformed” them. My favorite was always “you’ll be getting the highest speed we offer” when they only qualified for upto 1.5 mbps in that area.
Mass market. massive layoffs early 4th quarter
And of course the installers have a comment on our Sales oriented question, shocker.
Prime day starts today! 😁
It all relates-for us techs keep metrics up, hey it's a quota, just a different kind.
You all must be on teams that are doing great. Out of our 8 reps, only 1 is at quota. Customers are still looking to get off of us.
The more money you bring in to Lumen, the safer your job. But there are no guarantees. Quota is king.
I echo what @a3 said - just watch your quota
If you are at quota, I wouldn't worry too much. Only thing I heard in my region are those well below quota.
