Instead of complaining, let's be productive!
I started this post to help the people upset about RTO find remote work.
Let's start a list of General Motors competitors that are hiring remote workers.
I'm looking forward to your contributions and thank you for your time.

As long as it is not Ford
Stellantis has no plans to bring masses back to CTC, Very flexible and proud of output, big profits and expense reductions with offices closed. Teams all over the world since merger, what’s the point of coming into office if your buddy is in France
There's no legal requirement for a company to pay severance.
They can lay you off with nothing more than the pay for the last hours you worked.
RTO on January 30, 2023. Just in time for $5 gasoline.

I hope there are layoffs. I'd love a free 20k. @2vpo+1jheDoyc you seem very spiteful. Having ED issues?
Spoken like a true GM middle manager.
11,000 Engineering jobs. I'm not saying this to be mean but I'm wondering why you think an engineer from GM would be qualified for all types of engineering roles. Many of those job postings are for a software or computer network engineer.
A more helpful search would be for something more specific, like, "Remote Mechanical Engineer" in which there are 850 jobs.

There are going to be mass layoffs soon. Those jobs are going to be quite scarce by the time we RTO. It's fascinating how personally invested people are in thinking they can bully one of America's biggest corporations. Is this a Millennial thing? Do you really think they will bend to you? LOL wow I see the pictures of the people complaining (and saying quite nasty things about GM) about RTO on Yammer. They are all young. If they think that managers aren't taking names, they need to think again. It won't end well for them.

Are you currently looking for a new remote job?
If your skill is so d-mb that there's only 2 job openings with a pay cut, that is a sign you should either upgrade skills or not complain you have to go back in.
A search for remote engineering jobs on LinkedIn shows over 10k results in the USA.

Got a call from Germany to work 100% remote in my area of expertise. An exact match. I'm curious to figure out what they're paying.
We're going to bury these corporations. Either by keeping it hybrid or remote, or if forced into the office, work at 1/2 speed and effort forcing them to spend more on resources. In their open floor plans, space is limited as you can see.
Didn't you know, available talent is dying off with their myocarditis, retirement, or other issues. S**tshot makes people 🤢 or so much worse 💀. The fence hoppers can't do what we do, and he-l, they've failed miserably for fifty years trying to replace us engineers and designers.
Good effing luck. "I'm the captain now".
For SDE, pretty much every company out there.
Toyota
Ford
Rivian
I searched Indeed.com for my role/skill as remote. Only a handful of jobs came up and they were all with a (VERY) substantial pay-cut. Gosh, not sure how the thousands threatening to quit are going to make it with so few options but I wish them well.
I wonder how many of those remote jobs will be on Indeed.com by the end of December with all of the mass layoffs we keep hearing about.
Just go on indeed and search remote jobs. It's literally that easy.
Why just competitors? Why not any companies hiring remotely?
