Truly sad that the company has made billions of dollars. Yet the people who deliver the promise of the insurance contract get the short end of the stick. I’m sure the executives got their huge bonus for putting the demands and section managers and team managers to make the minions meat metrics at all costs. People are cheating, people are cutthroat on the claims floor while Working from home anyway. It is against the code of conduct to be cheating like this to get the bigger level or raise. But even with that the raises are so minimal for the claim employees.
I know State Farm is not what it used to be but I expect to be treated with respect and like they appreciate me. Spending all this money on ads, yet not taking care of their employees. I’ve seen it firsthand how so many employees are burnt out because of the metrics and now going on stress leave or medical leave for some reason. This cost more money for the company if they would only treat their employees with grace and respect.

That one commercial was 6 Million plus all the other people involved. 10M to say the least probably more like 15M but, don't you dare send a .55 cent letter. Sitting on over 115Billion in assests. WTF. Calculate just 10,000,000 dollars divided by the amount of employees around 50,000 and Look how much more they can pay the employees but, will not.
2-5% merit increase is garbage while other insurance companies are already paying more.

@4fla yes every year I apply to 5-7 insurance companies, go through multiple interviews, get offers of salary and benefits then compare them to my salary and benefits to make sure my pittance of a raise is what I am worth.
My LOGICAL response is the market determines what you are worth pat wise, have you applied elsewhere to gauge your value? Of course you have not, it’s so much easier and safer to visit this pos chat room and cry about it right?

Some people like what they do and work hard at doing it to the best of their ability, received an above average rating (4 our of 5) and yet receive a salary increase that doesn't meet the cost of living annual increase. Our bosses (TM's/SM's) are limited by what exec says they can offer as a pay increase. When executive handcuffs them, they are stuck. That's why the original post wasn't aimed at entry level mgt, but at executive and their inability to understand the people that represent this company to the public. Additionally, I'm very curious as to what insurance company didn't offer pay raises to their personnel. I've searched numerous ins companies here and the internet and can find no information that supports your comment. Which companies and how do you know?

It isnt how hard you work - it is does your effort account for value. We have a lot of mediocre talent working hard which equates to less than talented people working as expected. Some need to realize they won the lottery when they got a job.
You know other insurance companies gave no raises this year? And, there are millions of people who have lost their jobs in the last year? Maybe get a little perspective - compared to MANY other companies, we have it damn easy. We get to work from home, we still have our jobs, we are getting raises, and we are getting a damn decent bonus. So over the b–ching - if you don’t like it, go get a job somewhere else and then you can b–ch about that place.
@2wjy.....angry about nothing very often? I said nothing about operations. In fact I came from operations. Worked a lot of claims and a lot of storm duty in my day. Don’t lecture me about how the promise is delivered....especially when absolutely nothing I said was about that.
The topic was marketing and advertising. Guess what? They’re a vitally necessary expense.

Don't forget those who keep the promises made to the customers. They are by far your best advertisement! Customers don't like it when they are promised one thing and don't get it.
Agree with small raise this year. Even after all we did and how fast we pulled together for covid work from home environment now. We kept them running even with all the challenges with the system out of date and all of the technical issues.
We kept them going. We did more than above and beyond.
One of the first, toughest lessons that agents learn the hard way is that you have to spend on marketing and advertising. If you don’t, there’s no need for the employees and facilities because you won’t be around any longer.

Just look at who a company supports and make your decisions from there. Wait a time with patience. This will all come back to bite them in the butt. Their focus is not on their best asset.... the employee that provides the service. Their focus is on where the crowd is going. Look at the books CEO's read. Scary stuff. Little do they know, the NFL has dropped tremendously not because of just the pandemic. It has dropped because of its Marxist lack of inclusion and no benefit for all attitude. Be assured the general public recognizes it and it will affect future results. Limit the marketing and give me the service as a customer any day. Consumers aren't dumb and neither are employees. Executives, on the other hand, are far from reality and main street USA.
