Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

TGIF

Another week gone. Is it just me or has this entire company gone toxic? I could list inconsistencies here but I’d run out of room. Is anyone thinking about value anymore?

Our ELT is reactionary rather than thoughtfully long term strategic. They narcissistically and corruptly care only about themselves, and go home at night and whisper to their wives it’s all about stockholders’s value because this is what they believe. Watch for more dispositions at market lows and more layoffs in September. It’s what we do.

OMG Monday. Ugghh. Can COP hit 45? How many assets sold? How many lives impacted and stock is not any better than where we were. Toxic culture led by ??? Really, is this the best we can do?

It is just you and you are toxic. Do tell about your incontinence just quit. If you haven’t noticed we are in upper quartile of peers. Everyone is having volatility.

Unfortunately we’ve all seen where this is going: ELT surprised by low prices. Again! Was not in plans! Cash shortfalls! Stock buybacks reduced/ended. Wall Street disappointed. Again. More liquidation asset sales at bottom prices.

Layoffs again and again to help stock price or make us more attractive to a buyer. More presentations by folks with European accents who fool the analysts who don’t know our industry.

Meanwhile our “leaders” will wring their hands in pretend sadness while they take home compensation they’ve not earned.

@2vvf+13Dn8zP8 The stock is at a 52 week low and almost at the same level as it was in the 2015 downturn after selling so many assets. I don’t understand how you are doing “pretty good” right now. Please explain

The Friday night drunk disgruntled employee strikes again. I mean this with all seriousness: quit and seek counseling help. It’s not healthy for you. If you’re so unhappy, quit and go elsewhere. We’re actually doing pretty good these days.

It’s not just you. I’m there for the paycheck, and every February, and hope my pension will still be there when the next layoffs occur.
