Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

New Outsourcing End of the Year Projects Underway

King Ramon and Queen A. are the devils at PepsiCo. Just heard from a couple of people who are on the inside of the S&T transformation that new outsourcing projects have been initiated oo move more operations to our suppliers.

Employees will probably be rebadged for 6-12 mos before they're replaced with someone offshore.

They're trying to make it happen by the end of the year. This will be considered as part of the EOY layoff numbers.

I have been here at PBNA working in various markets and jobs. I have always prided myself with my vast knowledge and ability to support my team with matters pertaining to finance, HR, EHS, etc. Since PGT was quasi introduced (in all seriousness the roll out was a dismal failure) my capabilities have been diminished. The entire package is so excruciating dysfunctional there are too many negative ways to describe. It will take AI to figure out the pile that PGT is. In conclusion, I am taking VRP which is few years ahead of my plan to retire. Fake it till you make it comes to mind. I just don't care anymore.

It makes no sense. The reason cognizant was in the picture in 2014 was because they won the bid to own all of PBNA sustain operations, then lost it to HCL & TCS a couple of years later, then it became in house GBS/MBS. They won the bid for the massive tel-sell capex almost a decade ago. Ever since IBM became the partner for PGT cognizant has been a fa-t in the wind.

Rebadged to Cognizant, of course. I was rebadged in 2014. Pepsi gave Cognizant our severance packages with the promise that we would get the severance package if we stayed with Cognizant for (X) amount of time. The problem is, Cognizant will cut you the following Monday AFTER that date and you will get a measly 2 weeks on their "bench" (your severance, despite the decades you've likely put into Pepsi). It is a vile and inhumane practice. And yes, it IS happening again. EAM was just rebadged.

Good luck to you all!

@2rkp+1uUOm3m6: queen of ai and queen of product are “happy” bossing around

I need to outsource myself to a new company soon. This place is in shambles. Does anyone know anyone that is seriously happy working here right now?

The article shared by someone referencing athena makes no sense. Like they claim we are doing so much with ai and gen ai specifically and even claimed we achieved shrinking marketing campaign cycles from 8 months to 3-4? And the article talks about how ai made cheetos the perfect size recently- the shape and size of cheetos has been basically the same during my entire lifetime. We can't even use half the software at pepsico nonetheless ai related without getting sh-t shoved down your throat by legal and i.t. now s&t. And they're literally laying off the Indian workers as we speak. Why are they supposedly opening a new office when they aren't even being back filled?

S&T is about 75% outsourced already.

@oco+1uUOm3m6 - Why would you think all S&T are being outsourced? The post states that someone in the organization knows new outsourcing projects are underway. It could be within S&T, it could be outside S&T, it could be 10 people, it could be 10,000 people. Do you think these projects are public??? If the news got it, could you imagine? The person who posted it obviously doesn't have details about the projects.

@oco+1uUOm3m6 so what contracting agency is going to pick up all the S&T employees?

Will they be closing down Hyderabad since now it's not needed?

@cku+1uUOm3m6 - You are obviously missing the point. We just outsourced and rebadged. I couldn't care less about 2018, it's 2024. It's about to happen again. If you're going to be one of them, we only hope for the best for you.

I didn't realize S&T were all people who just sat on the phone placing beverage orders. That call center rollout has been in the works since at least 2018 when we paid Cognizant to build software that belongs to them. You clearly don't know anything about that project and the people impacted.

@vax+1uUOm3m6 - You should do some education before you reply. Did you not see where PepsiCo's call center was just outsourced to Cognizant and employees were rebadged...back in July or Aug of this year. Be angry all you want. It may or may have affected you. We're sorry to hear...but try not to make yourself look foolish here.

This post is a-s

Rebadged to WHOM? We don't have a managed service contract with any third party agency anymore.

Pep fired up hubs in India and Mexico to cut out the middle men. They just offshore directly within the company and hand out layoffs like candy.

Please make your sh-t posts believable next time

More changes. Nice! I saw in the earnings notes that we are expanding our warehouse and delivery capacities and capability. We have numerous locations sitting routes and senior leaders in warehouses building pallets. I sure would have hated to have seen what shape they were in before all of these capability enhancements. Looks like we are truly getting faster, better, stronger.

Queen Athina is one of the reasons for G&A cost increase. Her unchecked hiring of roles —- anyone or anything that has either Data or Strategy in their title. A few of them are talented people who could have done better work elsewhere are right now rotting and adding to the toxic waste
