@4gih+1d4kOT4L I hear GF struggles to retain people in India as well. Too much competition with other companies and no hesitance to jump from one company to another for the next best deal

When big companies trying hard to hire talent continuous layoff will not attract or retain talent. There is no growth in this company. All work currently done can be automated or outsourced if we just plan to keep factory running.

Before 2018 layoff. My team had 4 people in usa,4 in Singapore,4 in India.

Now 1 in usa, 4 in Singapore and 2 in India.

If layoff happens which team will impact any guess? It will be either India or usa as management is in Singapore.

There no one to layoff. NYS need a minimum headcount for tax break. The cafeteria staff the happiest people here.

@2tem+1d4kOT4L Same on US site at least last year, Yes. Each manager needs to provide top and low performance employee’s name and senior level pick the names from the list and try to kick them out. All the big company like the big four do the same things but use a very standard metric and more transparent way that people know no performance will be fired. However, GF choice to use an sneak way and manager pick the name by their personal preference. Some people even has no idea what is going and be kick out of the company.

Do you know in GF, layoff has quotas and can be reserved for your friends?
In my department in Singapore, the old-timers have booked the slots years ahead.

Some take it with the aim of returning after 6month or 1yr, and it happened.
Just a free S$150-300k for these bunch of useless old-timers who claim their 20yrs experience is crucial for GF/Chartered's success.

I would recommend GF layoff all of us except the equipment engineers and operation teams, so that the entire company and headquarter can move to Bangalore. People are leaving from my team and I have to work near 11 hours everyday. Anyone leave the company and you will find two more opening in Bangalore on LinkedIn. Looks like they are not willing to fill the position. I am ok to work for long hours but please don’t pay me the entry level salary with for the person who has been served for this company over 5 years. Annual raise is less than 1%.

@1tfa+1d4kOT4L very true. I got a goodbye email from someone that was a nice low-key shot at their manager and peers. It listed like 15+ projects they were working on simultaneously and basically said good luck with their replacements.

No need layoff. People leaving by themselves. I can't even see people in the hallway. This site is empty

Problem is uncertainty and if it is certain you will be layoff probably you can find job. Even though there is clear signoff of layoff in IT as Infosys taking over but leadership try to create uncertainty saying we have done with layoff
