Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Thanks, Sam!

I appreciate Sam's handwringing over the joke that is the Pulse 1Q23 results. Yeah, we're going to address some of the problems, she says. First, we need to let go of the problems, she mean. See you at the RIF!

The pulse survey is anonymous with that said if they went to extreme lengths which need so many approvals and unlikely unless you threaten people they won't know unless you type the way you speak. I know people that graded it so low and bashed leadership directly in the comments... We would have heard something come from it if they really cared who it came from. Leadership has even repeated the comments in pc terms to the teams so we all know how each other feel

These Pulse surveys are created to help everyone. I wish everyone could understand that. I’m very proud to work for a company that actually cares about my well being.

I feel Pulse is forced upon me to take. It’s also not anonymous, they know exactly who gave the rating and who wrote each verbatim. So therefore everything is a 5 and I am so proud to be a V Teamer.

She will leave soon too. She looks like she aged about ten years since she joined. Noting she’s doing is working. Keep posting your stupid post it notes on linked. Just had SVP all hands. 1st qt is looking really bad so far and we still have another month to go. How is Hans still here. He playing tummy sticks with the board. I thought Lowell was bad. But this guy. He sucks.

Leadership is also the problem when you talk fios as a core product 10yrs after you spot growing it. Macadams screwed the company.

Leadership is the problem when you spend what Vz spent and the customers are still leaving for competitors

You can tell by her response to the leadership question that they think the drop is because of the RIFs. It can't possibly have anything to do with the poor leadership that caused the RIFs in the first place.

The questions are highly vague, so of course the numbers will be skewed.

The results do get reviewed, then the AD/SM/M are supposed to take actions - which never happens. The best part are the free responses. Sure the survey is 'confidential', but those responses are provided down to the the AD/SM/M where they came from - deductive reasoning will tell the sup who actually wrote it. So, not so confidential as they claim....

Gallup should be fired! Total waste of time & money. The questions are deliberately vague so that however you answer, it can be interpreted 10 different ways. I do NOT participate in them, no matter what my management says or does. Participation of them is not a mandatory part of my employment. If everyone ignored them, the surveys would disappear overnight! VZ would save millions!

Negative responses just make your supervisor look bad and sh*t rolls down hill. I'm not sure why you'd want to do that.

I think Vz should adopt a one-off bonus program that could address temporary pay gaps for valuable employees, and not necessarily a retention program. Maybe they give you a bonus of $25k paid out bi-weekly over the year. That would give people inflation relief while also keeping down the comp level to allow for bpi's to catch up with the inflation over time.

Where's that question in the survey?

Unfortunately, there would always be politics in who got these bonuses, which is probably why the idea was a non-starter. Verizon has a 'find another job' view of non-competitive pay increases.

Most employees browbeaten to do the survey and hate doing it. It really does not reflect the true sentiment of the company and Gallup is making big money doing nothing.

They don't care just going through the motions.

They took a beating on the leadership question I love how in the video they just kind of glossed over that.

The culture is nonexistent at this stage, not to mention the lack of a cost of living adjustment the last two years. The leadership team needs to really step it up...

I was surprised at how high/unchanged the numbers were. Some of those numbers do not match the sentiment I'm seeing around the company.
