Thread regarding Ford layoffs

67 axed at Sterliing - Ford lays off 67 more at Sterling plant amid UAW strike

Ford announced today that 67 additional workers at the Sterling Axle Plant in Sterling Heights are being temporarily laid off this week due to the ongoing UAW strike against General Motors. This brings the total number of employees laid off at the plant to over 200 since the strike began September 16th. A Ford spokesperson stated the layoffs are necessary to align staffing with reduced production schedules resulting from the strike. The UAW called the walkout against GM over issues including wages, health care costs, and job security. Negotiations are ongoing, but the strike has disrupted operations across the auto industry. Ford says they hope to bring back workers as soon as possible once production returns to normal levels.

These should be called temporary layoffs. Because we all know the UAW is fully protected against any other type. Salary are the ones that get laid off (permanently). I'm getting so tired of hearing them whine and the media kissing their as--s. Eff the UAW

Funny how they publicize these layoffs but try to keep the white collar ones under the radar.

This is only a few UAW being laid off. They are getting paid for staying home anyway.

Let them strike for the next 3 months.
