Completely irrelevant to the topic. I've been trying to get hired at Clifton site for a year now, because I enjoyed my internship experience at another site and I'm local to Clifton area. Reading up on the posts on this website and about the stuff going on at Clifton site is scary.
I'm just curious how L3Harris does the hiring because a ton of students whom I went to college with were simply hired after applying on the website, no interviews or anything. For example one of my friends who had a GPA less than 3.0, no prior job experience/projects/clubs/organizations/volunteer was given an internship offer few days after applying. Whereas me who's had previous internship experience, multiple projects, 3.8 GPA, actively attending career fairs and connecting with recruiters and engineers wasn't even given a opportunity to interview. And I know GPA doesn't equate to how smart or qualified you are but how does L3Harris judge who's qualified for the job without interview? Btw for reference my friend and I have taken the same courses in college. Also some of these people that got hired lack work ethic and discipline, I've seen it with my own eyes. People that cheat during exams and get caught have been hired in this company and it pains to see them succeed when you've tried to follow the righteous path.
Also since last summer I've been applying to positions that come up now and then at Clifton (the second they are posted, I check website every few hours). I reach out to HR in hopes I could be considered for the position, the position is filled before I get a reply(most times I don't even get a response). Just curious are people being interviewed for these positions? Or are they just posting the job on website but offering it to those that have previously interviewed to save time and money? At least that's what I've heard happen to few people on reddit. Or am I just not qualified for these positions even though they're new grad positions and I have experience that match job description?
I've also had HR and my previous manager forward my resume to Clifton but nothing has came of it last summer and this summer. What are yall thoughts? Should I avoid this company or what? I've also tried other defense companies like Lockheed and BAE because they're in NJ but they've also had layoffs/hiring freeze. It's been really difficult trying to land job when companies don't want to post anything. Sorry again this is completely irrelevant to the topic and sorry if it sounds salty(probably because I am).
