Xerox HR has defined the term “useless.”

Kind of an industry thing I guess - hiring HR people that aren’t qualified.

Is this an industry thing? I've personally seen too many questionable instances to count. And every time IF it came to light perp gets a finger wag, "naughty, naughty" - And anyone who says this ain't right gets pegged as not a team player. You no what kind of company needs over stated "very strong anti-discrimination and anti-harassment policies?" Not a great one!

Glad to see this post!! HR at Xerox is there to protect the executives. I left last year but during my stint at XBS Southwest I had numerous run-ins with the HR lady. I was s-xually assaulted at a company function and was blamed and told by her that I could go back to the branch I came from after I had just moved my entire life to a new city!!! I later found out that this individual had done the same thing to three other women over several years at company events and his behavior was always swept under the rug. Beware if you are at XBS Southwest, the HR is there to protect the people she reports to.

I launched an ethics concern via the ethics reporting website back on June 15th. The system said it would forwarded to the business owner and I should get an update before June 29. I just checked the ticket now and no one has looked at it.

Seems about right for Xerox HR.

How did the severance package change? I know years ago, Xerox slashed severance to cap out at 12 weeks max for managers and 8 weeks for everyone else. Was the change more recent than that?

Agree w SMW comments. Its worth noting that on her watch, severance policy was changed with no communication. Also the formal performance review process was sc-apped in favor of a numerical ranking, to avoid lawsuits post layoff by high performers. Add to that the ego trip which is almost at Dr Jay levels and you have one unlikable individual.

HR started to go downhill right after we bought ACS and proceeded to a steep decline as outsourced many of our HR processes and benefits to them, language barrier was a significant impact. Last nail in the HR coffin was latest HR VP and team.

agree with below - the HR remaining are awful. I frequently wonder how they have been able to keep their jobs when so many other really valuable people have been furloughed or let go.

@3goo+16NFv8vB Haven’t met SMW. Can’t imagine she is worst then MH. She is nasty. Not sure why she is even in HR, she hate people. Very bitter and on a power trip - everyone hates her.

Have you met SMW? That should answer any question you had about the quality of HR. The Big Wig only cares about Xerox "Leadership", herself and her pay packet.

Our local HR was great before they left (luckily before they were 86’d). Things were really good at our core for several years before Icahn stepped in. It’s become a total shltshow ever since.

Soon enough Xerox will be known to only host the dregs that couldn't escape. Better make your escape plan and act on it asap.

@2quu+16NFv8vB For some quality of service may be an issue but for our region at XBS the HR person remaining is truly horrid. Most unprofessional individual I have ever encountered and she is horrible at her job. She has a job due to her relationship with certain higher ups (BR) and it’s shocking that she has a job. Any email address would be better then her.

I know back in the day, each XBS core had their own onsite HR/Payroll where employees could physically walk into their office and ask questions. I have no doubt, some where better than others. However, our HR used to be really helpful. We had 3 or 4 just for our core alone but now only 2 people are left. Needless to say their quality of service is definitely lacking but they are supporting the entire region(or whatever it’s called) I don’t blame our local HR, I blame whoever thought this change would be a good idea.

Anyways I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before they are all transitioned to HCL.

@2kpu+16NFv8vB- Intentions are academic. Writing a paper on how far an organization can cut back on historically established levels of support. Have you modeled various tolerance thresholds?

The only option for Xerox Direct is askhr@xerox.com, and I'm betting that's about to be true for XBS too.

No on-site support.

No phone number.

Just a **** email address.

Is this a multi-billion dollar company, or a corner deli? I mean, seriously, this is pathetic.

The XBS cores still have regional HR people. We lost our two on-site HR people before a lot of them were let go. Our HR person resides 100s of miles away at another core. Most people at our don’t even know who the HR person is for us.

Is Xerox’s HR just that “ask HR” app? Or are there actually people you can call/talk to? Reason I ask is because I’m sure that’s the direction we’re headed.

It used to be good.

Now it's an email to "AskHR" so Sanjay in Bangalore can try to help you in broken English in a long email chain.

Yes - save a few people, Xerox HR is devoid of intelligence. Leadership absolutely lacks credibility. An unfortunate and precipitous fall from what was once an academy organization. Sad.

But in the case of Xerox HR they are poorly trained & ill prepared to handle routine questions.

What does “bad” mean? Any HR Department is just an extension/reflection of a company’s leadership and values. If you think they are on your side or advocates for employees give your head a shake. At best (successful companies) they are pleasant, empathetic, consultative. At worst (xerox) they are indifferent, two faced, heartless and mean, particularly at a time when their “human”-ity is needed most.
In either case they have no power, are spineless and I don’t have much respect for them or their profession.
