Leadership Change

Is it time for a leadership change? Does anyone feel like the company can survive with all the bad decisions, poor treatment of core workers, massive financial losses and being summarily dowgraded by A M Best? Just curious folks thoughts.

very strange topic for you people to nitpick on. Go read up on the role of a board of directors. it doesnt matter what rust did 10 years ago he is out of the picture now its up to the board, who is suppose to represent the share holders (our customers were a mutual for all you non employees who hang out here all day for some reason)

Blame the board of directors for putting executives first.

And who selected the members of the Board they chaired? Why it was Rust and Tipsord. They had the power, not the board members who get flown to Chicago four times a year and paid $300k+ to be wined and dined so they could nod their heads in agreement. Heaven forbid any of them spend time in icky Bloomington.

Tipsord is NOT the problem. The problem can only resolve itself with a change in philosophy. It must come back to being an internal and external customer focus. As it stands now, the company consultants have mived to a each man for himself under the guise of a team. All about me and mine understandably leads to chaos. Under the current philosophy if it keeps going, I only see it getting worse.

Also the company lost its near 100 year old culture with transformative growth, by getting rid of most the legacy state farm employees, and replacing them with high turnover warm bodies who wont be here long enough for any culture to be absorbed or enacted.

We are a cultureless company gaslighting everyone that we are the same state farm they decided to destroy to save on costs.

No that wont work, everything disliked with this company is coming from the board of directors, and not really from the people they hire to carry out their plans. Board of directors need to be voted out basically.

@2pue. Very true. They are politicians. Believe none of what they say and all of what they do. Remember, they are exactly like cops. Its ok for them to lie to you but no no, you cant lie to them. Trust none of them.

Since MT assumed the CEO role SF reversed its slide and has outdistanced its nearest competitors. At the same time he has added over 40 billion to the capital base. When someone questions whether SF will survive they sound really stupid in light of actual results. Sure some don’t like the direction but the results are the results.

When leadership realizes they can no longer get something for nothing, then and only then things will change. Until then, remember its all kool aid.

Got a lot of paid corporate stooges saying how great it is at SF. Since Tipstard took over its been a cluster. He's single handedly ruined the company. Only question is...will it survive?

@2vix….A little ironic, since most people here complain endlessly about other people whose jobs they know nothing about.

Whenever you hear leadership say: "I couldnt do your job." That speaks volumes. How can they train and promote the job when they cant do it? This is a major problem not only at SF but within corporate America. We have way too many overpaid chiefs at the top who have zero clue what keeps their machine afloat nor do they respect those that keep it afloat. Their hypocrisy knows no bounds. It will change soon.

Nepotism is abundant at SF. Anyone in every leadership position is beholden to the narrative yet preach inclusiveness etc. Power corrupts. Absolute power absolutely corrupts. It is not a healthy work environment.

The BOD has asked MT to stay onboard beyond 65 because of the Companie’s strong performance around growth, capital and customer satisfaction.

Seems like folks really want a change in leadership but it won't happen so back to work before you get 15 lashes from the whip.

SF is blessed with the best leadership in the industry if they were making widgets but sadly they are not - it is in the service industry. SF complete failure to provide quality service to its customers in their time of need arises directly from leadership failures across the board. Soon they will be losi g to geico and progressive. It will never happen.. can you say sears???

I hear criminals infiltrate those India IT companies..as IT they have access to everything then steal massive amounts of date...sometimes they sell it back to the companies for millions. India is very lax on white color crimes. They never catch the thieves.

The only stroke of absolute brilliance I can think of is when they unloaded ownership of all those buildings and properties when they did, leased them back, and then bounced early breaking the leases. It's like they knew they were going to be negative assets or something a few years later, even though it seemed like an odd thing to do at the time.

SF is blessed with the best leadership in the industry. As evidenced by our growing domination of competitors and a capital position that is the envy of every Fortune 500 company.

For you people who dislike working at State Farm, fear not. Artificial intelligence is here and becoming more sophisticated by the hour. Within several years AI will be adjusting claims, underwriting policies, performing HR and Finance functions, etc. You will no longer have to endure the terrible burden of working at this great corporation I created.

So, you people wonder, who will be at the helm when this comes to fruition? It will be my son, of course.

It's a REALLY rough time for insurance companies right now. This is why SF banked those billions a few years ago when you all thought it should go directly to your bonuses. We're losing money but not like some competitors--all the while growing and cutting some price breaks to the policyholders.
Does going to work every day feel great right now? No, it does not. But it could be worse (and in most other places, it is).

I know IT fraud is rampant in India so companies are not using then because there's no recourse there. You can't catch them. They don't prosecute. It's a mess over there.

I think you make some valid points and maybe, sadly, a leadership change is necessary for the good of the company.
