BUY AMERICAN!!

I am Mennonite. Every single thing I own was made by my family or our neighbors.

You could all learn some valuable lessons from the Amish and Mennonite communities!

Layoffs have been going on, position elimination, likely they’ll create those positions in LCCs with five added heads to every one removed in the US. This is an opportunity for managers to eliminate the non yes men, and perpetuate our downward spiral…

"2023 Made in America Auto Index: Toyota's total domestic content is 71%"

"For the third year in a row, Tesla Inc.’s Model Y is the most American-made car, according to a ranking released Tuesday by Cars.com.

The Jeep Gladiator produced by Stellantis NV was the only Detroit automaker vehicle to rank in the top 10 on the annual list, coming in at No. 8. Meanwhile, Tesla's Model S and Model X also ranked in the top 10, along with Honda Motor Co.'s Honda Passport, Odyssey and Ridgeline, Toyota Motor Corp.'s Camry and Lexus TX, and the Volkswagen ID.4."

"VW, Toyota, Nissan, and Honda all increased their US content while GM, Ford, and Stellantis witnessed drops in domestic sourcing. "

"Ford, in particular, has increased their manufacturing and sourcing from Mexico with Bronco Sport, the Mustang Mach-E, and the Maverick all assembled there."

You were saying...?

Each and every stitch of clothing on my back is made in America by an American company using only materials that have been sourced in America.

Every bite of food that I have ever eaten has been from America.

You need to BUY AMERICAN!

You're a fool! That furniture and electronics have an American company name on them, but are foreign produced and made!

You couldn't be more wrong even if you tried.

Real Americans refuse to buy anything that isn't Made In America by American companies!

Not a single piece of furniture or electronic in my home was made by a foreign company!

You can go and enjoy driving your Toyota.

The rest of us will BUY AMERICAN!

Since there's already been a number of Agency people let go, salaried will be next. Not sure when but it's always been this way.

It may not be simply speculation, I think there’s another round of CTP for areas which didn’t participate.

“Way to make the holidays special?” Seems to me the only one doing anything here is you - speculating then getting upset about something that is not even fact. Want to feel better and enjoy the holidays? Stop making things up then being mad at someone else for what you made up

Exactly.. But tariffs will accelerate the shift to LCCs.

The salaried Big 3 jobs are going the way of the dinosaurs.

You're wrong. In fact, while American OEMs have been building factories in Mexico, China and India, Japanese OEMs saw the writing on the wall years ago and have been building factories in the US.

So when tariffs hit it will be Ford, Stellantis and GM that raise prices. Toyota, Honda, Nissan will all eat their lunch because of it.

Didn't kid yourself about tariffs. When a Maverick costs $60k and a Honda Ridgeline costs $25k, which one do you think will sell?

Tariffs or no tariffs there will be outsourcing of white collar jobs. We are the invisible work force, when the public thinks of automotive jobs they only think of the plants . White collar office people do not even exist.

I doubt it. I think American companies will continue to outsource labor. I don't think that will ever stop.

Any tariffs imposed will be offset by increasing costs and outsourcing salary / office work.

American companies will exist mostly outside the USA except for their c-suites.

@2cyc+1w1fxLGs yep. We are. Because there are no tariffs on outsourced overseas salaried work. There is however on manufacturing.

So you'll see manufacturing returning in country. Which means the salaried outsourcing will speed up. I expect 90% of all salary Ford employees to be in LCCs by 2027.

@2weh+1w1fxLGs IDK if Ford will survive the train wreck. I don't even know if there is going to be an economic train wreck. Believe me, I agree with you, but stranger things have happened. However, I am having serious doubts we, the workers, are going to stay working at Ford. Whatever happens, we are sc--wed, as always.

Ford and the other American OEMs are in a state of recovery

There will be a recovery.

In about two years.

But first the economic train wreck that was set in motion. It can not be stopped.

Some companies will survive. I don’t think Ford will be one of them because they hitched their wagon to the wrong political pony.

Elon was smart. He didn’t let ideology get in the way of sound business decisions.

I disagree. Ford and the other American OEMs are in a state of recovery. I think that growth is on our horizon.

Just hold tight. Show your value at work. And your job will be safe.

LAYOFFS ALREADY happening in Customer Service anyway for Ford Credit. They realized that they picked a bad time December ( first week ) because next Mexico class not quite ready and now they are having to offer overtime which had become a no no. Go figure. And more layoffs to come as soon as New Mexico teams are ready.
