Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

I don't believe X will go unscathed

There are many of us who have their reasons for not being able to receive a jab, and who at the same time cannot allow themselves to lose their jobs. No matter what you think about vaccination, I would not debate it at all, the truth is that many people will be in a very bad position because of all this.
As much as X might think that it works to their advantage to get rid of the employee without giving them a package, I somehow think that karma will do its job and that this company will suffer the consequences?

Vaccines in general prevent infection. Yes, they actually do. Polio, Rubella...Mumps and many more...you are a lock to not get these if you've been vaccinated against them. This vaccine? Not the case. Again, let's stick to not delivering toner, fumbling meter reads and screwing up invoices... things we're really good at.

@ : @2njb+1drzITFi. And how long have they been injected into humans?

I’ve never heard anybody claim vaccines prevent infection. So what? They shorten duration and severity.
I still wear my seat belt in my car. Does it guarantee I won’t die? Nope, but so what? I’m better off wearing it than not. And it protects other people in the car with me too. Damn, sounds kinda like a vaccine!

Why do I care if others get vaccinated?

  1. I care about others, not just myself. That includes the people you might infect as a result of not protecting yourself. In particular, those who are not able to get vaccinated due to medical conditions.
  2. I understand that no vaccine (or medication, or any medical treatment) is 100% effective. So even the vaccinated are at some risk, albeit an order of magnitude lower than the unvaccinated.
  3. I want the pandemic to end, and at the present time, broad vaccinations are the only path to achieve this.

If you have a valid medical reason to not get vaccinated, then the decision is not straightforward, and requires consultation with your doctor(s).

If not, I have yet to hear a reason for not getting vaccinated that I believe stands up to even minimal scrutiny. That said, nobody is being forced to take the vaccine. For those in this camp, you’ve made your bed, now it’s yours to lie in. Accept the consequences of choosing personal freedom over social responsibility, and maybe stop the adolescent whining.

If you took the jab you should be good , so why are you worried about me. To each their own. If you worry about yourself you won’t have time to worry about me. Peace ✌️ out.

Re: childhood vaccinations
When I received my or-l polio vaccine in early 1964, it most certainly hadn’t been in use for decades. 😂😂😂

I understand that some people have fear regarding the vaccine. I had some concerns when the vaccines first came out also. After investigating a bit, learning that complications from vaccines show up in weeks (not years), and seeing the huge number of people that have had the Covid vaccine longer than this with no I’ll effects, I became comfortable with getting injected. Could there still have been some risk? Sure, but l’d say no more than other risks I face just from daily activities

The “illegal border crosser exemptions” is just a right wing dog whistle.

People detained for illegal entry are encouraged to get vaccinated, but as with everyone else, the government is not requiring them to take the vaccine. If you are arguing that these people should be forced to take the vaccine, then I presume you must be in favor of forced vaccinations for everyone else as well. If not, what’s the distinction?

Welfare recipients are neither federal employees nor a business employing 100 or more workers. Of course, if they do have a job at the latter, they will be required to be vaccinated to do their jobs.

I would fully support vaccines being required (with medical exemptions) for anyone receiving any federal benefits. Whether it’s even possible to mandate this via executive order is a different question.

The difference between childhood vaccinations and this recent vaccine are that the ones I received as a child had been in development and testing for decades, not months. And they were protecting me from something far more dangerous than something similar to the flu.

Oh please, you are all griping over getting a silly shot that could save your life....were you all not vaccinated as children? Did you die from those vaccines? Do you eat and use only all organic products?
With the amount of people who smoke, do dr-gs, drink consistently, eat fast food, breathe in smog and other pollutents, etc....do yoy not think that stuff is all doing more damage than a vaccine? If not then you people are what is wrong with this country!
Lose your job, who cares, people badged to HCL had no choice either and got 3 days to decide---take the job or leave with no severence or unemployment...AND we had to train our replacements, did you??
Stop all the damn whining!!!

What's not surprising but disappointing about this process is the lack of any empathy and compassion applied. There's criticism that "sales" runs the company and this is the root of all that's evil at Xerox. It's obvious that sales has no influence on how these leadership teams involved in this mandate process function. If they did, there would be some nuance and creativity used to "influence" decision making of those targeted. After all, the beauty of a well handled sales process is one that influences a decision through choices given, asking questions and not telling...and in the end making the "buyer" feel that he/she is making the best decision possible. Even for those that buckle under the deadline, the post purchase dissonance created by the fumbling of this mandate will be profound. The fallout from this will undermine everything this company tries to accomplish moving forward.
