Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

Open Roles

Over the past few weeks there have only been 2 open roles in the Denver office. Other offices have 20-30 (NC, TX, NY, IL).

Does anyone know what that is about? Let’s hear it.

@2lvb Well it is not a town hall from T but another business area. If you don’t have it it’s because you are not in that part of the business…

So no need to worry from what that other poster said.

@21tt
LOL - I know right. When it is time to ask questions in townhall most people sh-t in their pants and when it is anonymous even a post about Denver office turns into selling recordkeeping post. Not everyone is EC is bad and not everybody retaliates, there are lot of good leaders within the company and they would welcome questions and open discussions.
Sometimes I wish they would sell the whole cr-p and put us out of our misery. LOL

Nothing is going to happen in May, this was already confirmed that they aren't selling record keeping. Sure some new vendors might come in sure lot of employees will get laid off but if they sell record keeping they might as well shut down the company.
Do you really think new vendor coming in is going to take all these tiaa employees cut their salary, cut their benefits and still expect same loyalty and dedication... no that is not happening.
But we should wait till 5/30 townhall before opening "What is coming in June" thread. This sh-t has been going on since Jan.

Focus is on Frisco, just Google “TIAA Frisco” and you’ll find articles on the firm spending 110 million building out new building.

And as mention previously by others, Record Keeping are done. They’re pushing them off to another Vendor (Accenture, possibly) and employees in Operations can go or lose their jobs.

Considering they spent a ton of money on the Frisco, Texas office and the Denver office lease expires in 2028 (or 2029?) they are literally pushing the Denver employees out. It makes sense financially the lease is very expensive downtown, the crime in the street and trains as well as parking are things they can avoid.

If they don’t renew the lease for cheaper or go to DTC or Greenwood Village, then it’s likely no more positions in Denver in the foreseeable future as they phase out the location.

I remember seeing a corporate hub video about a year ago praising the new soon to be finished Frisco office and Denver was not highlighted in it as a “corporate hub” office location like NY, Charlotte, Chicago, India, London?, and Frisco were. So writing’s on the wall for sure.

In the past they moved NY folks to Denver and Charlotte when those office locations were established/built but now they may be like “Move to Frisco on your own dime” ie no relocation benefits “or seek employment elsewhere.”

Knowing T and the last town hall, where she literally said “if you don’t like it leave”…
