I accept VRP and am happy to be out on Friday. Seeing all the lay offs and plant closures makes me sad for the folks losing their jobs, but at the same time I feel like I dodged a bullet. Best wishes to all affected.

It’s shameful how everyone shows up and then they basically get fired and escorted out. Such a tacky, disgusting way to view employees.

PepsiCo doesn’t do WARN notices. The fines are minuscule. They don’t want everyone jumping ship. Just those they want to push overboard.

And so it begins. I have accepted a VRP package and consider myself very fortunate this morning, however I extend my sincerest wishes of peace to those that will be leaving unexpectedly.

I wonder if PBNA will be a generic “we’re going to 3 divisions” announcement? I find it hard to believe they will have it all planned out down to structure and org charts. Hard to believe because nothing is organized or well run.

@2lna+1vaeDggH - The VRPs aren't forced. I think of them as early parole. :)

For PBNA why not go to 6 Divisions to match Frito and then chop all the duplicate roles and put both under one management structure?

Confirmed Plano will be hit next week as well as PBNA. Not 100% on rumors of PBNA going to three divisions though.

As someone who has been in the "Purchase Palace" for decades (we call it the "Emerald City" or "Ivory Tower"), I can certainly vouch for the fact that we're hit every single year.

But I accepted VRP so I'll have to come here for my news and updates after next week. :)
