He was in XBS , papers say 5 weeks severance , plus Vacation pay that he was owed. 1/10th of the employees were terminated in the building. I think age could have been a factor. Excellent work record. Never reprimanded for poor performance. Previously employed for several decades at another major company for entire career. They got rid of all the “ older folks” . That’s why only 5 years here. Now we are in the same boat again.
Best wishes to you. I hope all works out.

Any kind of severance package and I know 5 years is kind of short...I have been furloughed also since May, direct xerox and 44 years...no phone calls yet...sorry to hear about your situation

Dear Original Poster ,
My husband worked for them for 5 years. Been on furlough since Spring. He was called this past week and told he no longer has a job.
It’s your decision, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. You may get the same phone call we did. Wishing you luck .

Tech's don't get President's club anymore.

Been in sales for 20 plus years. Acutely aware of how critical techs are to this business. There’s no way my a$$ was ever on a plane to president’s club without them. Now techs are either on perpetual furlough to avoid layoff $$$ or doing way more calls with less support. On top of that they’re taking endless $hit from rightly angry customers.
For any organization to knowingly put its front line employees in this position is reprehensible and stomach turning.

Crazy. I was just laid off this past week. I am honestly considering a different path. All the stress placed on field techs is crazy.

This is a mess. I was with xerox for over 20 yrs and left on my own in January because I couldn’t take it anymore. If someone asked me 6 yrs ago I would have told them it was a sinking ship and I’m sorry you are all caught up in it. Furlough is code word for laid off. They will keep you on the governments payroll hoping you will jump ship. They don’t have to pay. It’s a win win win for them. It’s a loss for all of you.

To Poster: Xerox doesn’t care about you or your situation or your family. Do what is right for your family - there should be no hesitation. From what people have posted it takes Mary Ms approval to bring furloughs back & a business case has to be presented to her - have you ever met her? Nasty psychotic person who bleeds from her eyes and wherever.
