Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

How are things going?

I've been gone from State Farm for more than two years, so I'm curious, has the management finally succeeded in slashing their way to profitability, or are they still working on it?

Nah, they ignored the metrics on how expensive it is to have an undertrained and new workforce all the time due to insane turnover. Training is more about getting warm bodies in the call center floor than actually teaching how to do the job. Just about every customer facing dept is a massive mess and a royal pain just to be working in. We are losing massive money on claims due to the above mentioned issues.

Our call SLO's might be good now though, seems to be the only thing they care about.

This company needs new management top to bottom. Way less overpriced TMs too, stop wasting money on large offices no one wants to shows up to as well.

After this hurricane, lets see how they can substantiate the bonuses from the ground up to the customer. They ate it big time in both auto and home.

Slashing costs? why does SF waste so much money on AAA office space in boomtowns that no one even wants to be in for one week a month? Why are there so many TMs (adult baby sitters who couldnt do the underlying role) with inflated salaries who contribute nothing other than identifying the children HR hires?

Its like fifteen year ago they said to slash costs in only claims and UW, and now claims is an absolute train wreck, and UW is incurring massive losses due to claims, along with an agency that has become nothing more than vacationing agents letting untrained "couldn't get hired at fast food" staff running the customer side of the operation.

We have become our inferior competitors for what its worth, which seems to be the only goal post rust era. For that the CEO that led us to inferiority got massive bonuses and left for someone else to sweep up.

The only thing that is changing with time is the people who care leave and the yesmen who pretend its still legacy SF stay. Therefore, everything is fine now.

its a troll from corporate, they are trying too hard to make work from home seem bad but in reality its better than in office , management its just scared that it makes them pointless as middle and upper management are not needed and remote work runs just fine, claims rep cannot and do not have time to watch or play games as every 90 seconds it tracks your idle time and they have reports and they record your screen and audio, claims reps cannot even go to the bathroom for fear of triggering idle, meanwhile the moment you are are back at the office they seem to not care about idle and they stop by and chat with you for a good hour just taking up the employees time, employees are in fact less productive in office due to all the distractions, it is funny how desperate to justify their positions are upper management during that week that they take employees times and waste it, they go from office to office and have basically a mini party catching up with other management its loud and distracting and awkward that they basically wasted most of the day socializing but an employee would be written up for a few minutes of idle but its ok when the waste your time...

As sales goals are missed, soft freezes on transferring out of Injury, slowing on new hires continue things are going great.
