Tiered VBO?

I’m hearing more and more that a VBO communication will come out in March. And rumors of it being complicated and tiered. If you don’t qualify immediately, you can agree to accept it in two years or something like that. Anyone think that’s a possibility?

I've done a very careful analysis.

It won't happen.

The crux is this. I would qualify, as well as a lot of other people. We do all the work and the fancies take all the credit. They know it's all downhill from there.

If a RIF does occur will it be long time employees , new hires or an equal mix?
Typically it’s an equal mix to avoid discrimination lawsuits, but can they afford to lose anymore long time employees familiar with the Fidelity ways, skeletons, business logic, etc?
If hiring is still occurring, can they really justify a RIF? I have seen cases where they do both hiring and RIF by eliminating an entire project, business group, agile, etc. so be suspicious if they start moving people about as they will use this to place people in a group that will be eliminated.
They can also move a group to a new location and require people move there as this will lead to a RIF indirectly since some will refuse to relocate.
So many ways to get rid of us 😟

If not a VBO then maybe another RIF, I know a number of groups where folks have been told to start looking for new jobs.

Interesting if true. Would like to see the offer for 2025 June. That might be the perfect for me.

If so, it will su-k for those who miss it by a year or two. Sounds like they’d have no option but to wait for another one that may never arrive.

Yes, I heard the same tiered VBO back in August from 2 directors. Mentioned 2024 you have the option to stay till 6/24 or 12/24, then to 6/25. Then there will be new retirement benefits when you hit certain milestones. Last VBO offer and will be a good one to consider.
