Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Would you rather be furloughed ? Fired ? Not have a job ?

So many people on here just complain complain complain. Meanwhile 30 million people are unemployed. When you complain on here on how bad ur job is you all look crazy or living in a bubble. Sad.

If you have been working for years just remember you are paying into the system so it isn't a handout. I collected 2x and I am over 60yo. It wouldn't bother me to stay safe at home while collecting $1000+ per week.

Answers:

Age 50-65: furloughed
Age 65+: fired (I'll draw that unemployment for 6 months before retirement)
Age under 50: no job (I'll play video games)

Damn straight! This country was build by people with a strong work ethic who didn't want no handouts!! Granted they were slaves so they would be murdered if they refused to work...

It’s amazing to me how many losers would rather sit home and collect a government handout vs work. This country has changed so much , not for the better. With work ethics like that it’s clear why people are on here complaining all the time. I personally love my job and appreciate Lowe’s for paying me every two week !

People have a right to be safe at their jobs. And employees should never be be verbally-or physically-abused by customers. Retail employees' job duties are to assist customers, not be abused by them. The pandemic has demonstrated how little Lowe's management values and respects its store employees. But if management does not respect its employees, we should not be surprised customers do not respect us either.

i agree with a previous poster—people on here constantly bashing customers had the same attitude before all this started—it’s just now being revealed and out in the open. The dripping, utter contempt for customers was always there.

A lot of sunshine soldiers on here—-and I’m glad that you only represent a small portion of the company employees, most of which are not on this website and are striving to serve our customers under difficult circumstances.

Stop reposting old threads.

But as long as you already have... Yes. Unemployment currently pays out more than what I make working. That plus no id–t customers who don't care if they get me sick? Sign me the f— up. You'd be an id–t to prefer the working in this climate to that.

You don't sign up to work at Lowe's to put your life and more importantly your family's lives on the line, It simply does not pay near enough. I can understand being open for essential items but to run spring black Friday ads or any sales is simply irresponsible. I have long been a supporter of Lowe's and against many of the lazy people that simply come on these boards to complain but I also know what is not right and when to stand up for what is right and what Lowe's is doing is simply disgusting putting the mighty dollar ahead of safety.

If you would rather be unemployed just to get the temporary Federal unemployment assistance of $600 then you do not have a work ethic.

Working any retail right now is tough. People are in panic mode and a lot of the people shopping right now are the crazy ones. Any retail worker that is still going out there to help should be appreciated. However, most of the ones on here just b–ch and moan. The same ones who hated customers before this are the ones complaining about them now.

So those are the choices?! We can’t expect or demand a safe workplace? We have to be “grateful” to be thrown in the front lines without a choice? At a company that was one of the last to provide any kind of PPE to their employees, which still isn’t sufficient?

I think you’d see a lot less complaining (and quitting) on here if we had crowd control, a more streamlined Internet process, complete PPE (not sc-aps!), and a grateful leadership.

So dont look down your nose and challenge us with those choices. We’re doing enough. If only the company was.

Marvin? Dat you? All righteous and what not. Or is it small hands Joe?

I'd rather be furloughed or fired at this point. My state is giving the unemployed an extra $600.00/month. That beats the hell out of the pittance Lowe's gave us. Plus I can spend my time looking for a career with an employer who appreciates my work ethic.
