@2iob+1d0is33t I wouldn’t go so far as to say the sls and she don’t want to see you go. I’m pretty sure they want you to go in order to be compliant and save their jobs. The toxic culture they create suggest otherwise.

In Baton Rouge the SLSs and maybe some DH+ actually don’t want employees to leave but they are absolutely required to execute the assessment program as defined by the corporation….there are no exceptions.
We can ask all we want for it to change but that all comes from Dallas. It’s actually sad watching the LT’s struggle to figure out what they can do to make it stop when they are powerless to do what makes sense for their site.
It’s also sad to see us go from such a good place a few years ago to a place where folks don’t feel valued or appreciated.
In my experience at Baytown, this was all done by the SLS'. They have no soul and some of them firmly believe anyone over 50 should be laid off. This is a self-filling process.
Baton Rouge is pretty much on its last leg and they keep cutting deeper. We saw solid engineers get PIPd last year and this year and that now has A LOT of the engineers applying elsewhere. How can you cut teams that are clearly understaffed. Plus you cut superb and hard working engineers. Who ever came up with this PIP lay off can probably give the devil himself a run for his money.
In Baton Rouge many were PIP’d for no reason except meet DW’s 8% PIP. Many took PIL despite being begged to stay and promised easy PIP with guaranteed pass.
Many departing PIPs are regretted.
Huge recruitment effort to recover but no way to replace the decades of experience walking out the doors.
Same story in Baton Rouge. Old division manager was a serious clown. Only time will tell the new one will locate and extract the LTA managers here. Sad part is I’m gone soon so it doesn’t matter to me but I sure hope he smokes em for the Bennefit of the remaining engineers. Some of these managers are absolutely horrible. Volunteering for work from the higher ups then threatening admins with their jobs in order to get them to do the work then claiming credit for the work with the dh an division managers. He-l isn’t hot enough for that woman.
Not just manufacturing sites. . . Employees are walking out the door in droves in every part of the business.
In Permian we have many engineers and field leaving every day. There are no employees in Houston willing to move out to the Uncon PIP factory to backfill so more and more contractors are being hired. They will have to increase the premium I think.
I'm in Singapore and there are engineers leaving literally every week.
I work in mfg, and yes, uncontrollable attrition. In Baytown they are losing engineers and SLS nonstop.
People who quit are regrettable attrition, because indeed they are leaving positions for which XOM did not have immediate plans to cover. Many of these are positions that nobody else within XOM wants/has the skillset to fill. Hence, they hire externally.
PIPs are a little bit more orderly since DHs & managers can discuss contingency plans before booting someone.
