Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

I've had enough of this place

It seems that GF has decided that they won't be replacing our colleagues who left. It's been almost a year already. Isn't that extremely frustrating? Those who make decisions here probably expect that the remaining people will accept additional work and therefore concluded no need to replace people. Well, their plans don't quite line up with mine. I'll be out of here pretty soon.

Agree whole AME is in deep terrible and horrible state with no light at end of tunnel as whole management team is questionable and led by questionable person. I gave up as well and last day I’d tomorrow

It’s not just etch. All across our managers and their managers just suck. I can not think of one manager that can point to an accomplishment. It’s a lot of goal setting and then giving up. There are some managers who really haven’t achieved anything in a decade but stop remain??

Etch in particular is in terrible state as colorful head guy with no brain is screwing up the whole etch. He knows that he will never be fired as he belongs to same junk class as rest of AME management. He was asking his lunch friends about mass resignation:) .. what a low for etch

Etch department is really worst as it is led by fraudster who knows nothing about etch. I can guarantee that it is soon going to be a mass resignation with more than 90% of us will leave etch GF Malta.

You can’t expect anything different from GF management. Just take a walk around the cubes of AME Etch, Malta. What do you see? Small people, literally and figuratively. Liars and cheats. That entire management team is ineffective, and simply managing per the established process and regulations putnin place by HR. Don’t they realize that 90% of their subordinates have little to no respect for them? Don’t they realize that if if given the opportunity, half of their employees would walk out tomorrow for little to no $ increase just to get away? Not to difficult to see that a department is as good as it leadership. Just happens that the AME etch leadership position is occupied by a sniveling little suck-up who care only for himself.

They are lying to you. They never ever had any real ambitions to replace our colleagues who left. Just pick up their work load… next one who leaves… repeat …. Again Globalfoundries mgt is lying to us and have been for years now and they are very aware of it

While it’s challenging to pack it up and start a new career journey, it really is the only logical solution to getting away from the toxicity of GF. I was laid off so I had no choice in the matter. However, the 3 months paid non-working period followed up by a severance package, made it easier. I gave almost 8 years of time/effort to a company who tossed me aside when things got tough. I’m not bitter or angry with GF just honestly disappointed. On the flip side, I’m happier and healthier now. I work for a better company and no longer spend my days commiserating with my coworkers. You’re making a good choice by leaving. Life outside of GF is much better. Best of luck ✌️
