LOL, I would like to see you legitimately clean all the appliances and displays in a Williamsburg set store in under an hour particularly when we have at best only a single employee per dept. Half the time we are still pulling Sterling orders well after closing. Oh, and by the way NO OVERTIME!!!

Why would you be working off the clock? We do it as a team after closing it takes literally 10 mins. Hell most of the Time we have the entire store wiped down by 8:30.

We dont have time to keep cleaning the break room. Most people try to clean up after themselves, but the rest of the associates a bunch of pigs. There’s no accountability. We don’t have time to keep chasing after them to get the garbage in the trash and wipe down their sh– not that we have real cleaning materials to deal with anyway. And of all the things we have to do for this company all day long, is it too much to ask for them to have somebody else clean the damn break room? Its enough that we have to clean the rest of the damn store? We’re not supposed to be working off the clock anyway. Pay me if you want to break room cleaned.

Lol I got downvotes for informing how we clean our break room? Everything doesn’t have to be a corporate mandate. If this situation has shown us anything is that instead of waiting for some manager or executive to waive a magic wand, we have to take care of each other. Yes they can and should do more, but at the end of the day, we have to work in this sh–storm. We have to do what we have to do protect ourselves...or you can just complain online and let everyone get sick waiting on Marvin I guess.

“I want mine in the break room. I want him to see how filthy it is, how close we have to sit near each other, how dirty the sink is etc. He needs to come down to our level and see what’s happening.“.

Why don’t you all just clean the break room?We made a department rotation schedule that we used until we stated the store cleaning. Now the closers just clean it as a group before we go wipe down the departments since our supply closet is in the break room and we all have to go there to get the buckets and disinfectants anyway.

LOL, at least you have a store manager. Ours has been self quarantining at home for over 6 weeks while the rest of us are dealing with all the BS going on at the store. I guess there are advantages to being salaried but I am sure the other managers don't appreciate his antics.

I don't think it's a big deal, the break room is for all employees including managers. That said we have some managers who will use it and others that get their snack and go to their office.

Every other retail company I've worked for over the years, the managers weren't allowed to take their breaks in the employee breakroom. The thought process was that the employees need time to themselves away from customers and management to recharge, having a manager in the break room defeats that, no matter how "friendly" the manager is.

It’s not really a break when your in the break room and the manager wants to talk customer business with you or about work for you to do when you get back. When a manager is in the break room, I leave the building.
