Our store manager acts as if his job is much, much harder and more stressful than it actually is. I don’t believe his job is even half as stressful as he pretends it to be? That person doesn't really do anything, but he pretends that everything would fall apart without him. I would like to be doing his job for just one day, to rest and relax a bit.

@2hux A coach is someone that “sees” beyond your limits and guides you to greatness! The store must pull together towards a common goal as a team to succeed. Turnover is high in this position when the store isn’t productive as you said? My flagship Belk store manager is still here and the store is dirty, unorganized and understaffed all the time. She does not seem to care enough as leader of her Belk “great team” to take it to greatness! It is time to replace that coach at Belk with Key Holder for cost saving would you think so?
SM jobs are not for physical labor, nor can you "see" them working. The job is 24/7, mentally exhausting. Turnover is high in this position when the store isn't productive. It's the same for coaches of sports teams...pleasing shareholders, pleasing fans. The store must pull together towards a common goal as a team to succeed.
If store managers leave the store now and Belk replaces that stressful position with Key Holder making $12 or $13 per hour then why do you need many lazy and overpaid store managers at Belk in the first place? Saving money or wasting money at Belk right now? Make up your stressful empty mind Belk?
I am sure store managers have so much work at Belk stores like talk all day on the phone and take a long nap in the office or surfing on internet all day? May be show up on the sale floor for 45 minutes to harass associate for Belk credits, Email captures or download the Belk App quota for the stores? Did we miss anything at all pleases let us know!
How stressful if store managers work a few days and on vacation most the time? How stressful if store managers stay in office all day and complaint the store is dirty and nobody helps customers on sale floor? How stressful store managers are making $110,000 salary or more and doing nothing much at Belk and show up when big corporate coming for visit? We will pretend that we have so much work for three people if store managers pretend they are so stressful and so busy at Belk stores? Such a waste of money or payroll salary and productivity at Belk think about it? Well may be Belk dies not pay store managers to think around here?
