Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

RTO Media Blackout

There is no coverage in the HQ city about how one of its largest employers is bucking the RTO trend.

The news knows where its bread is buttered.

@2hds+1cInFFdx Vaccinated carry virus asymptomatically and spread to vaccinated and unvaccinated. An infant died of COVID recently. More than 35% of recent hospitalizations in Los Angeles county were among FULLY VACCINATED. Children cannot be vaccinated. Whether vaccinated or not, you’re still a vector to spread disease. Anyone who says otherwise is not well informed and not following the “science”.

It doesn’t matter if it makes sense to you. They’re doing this whether you like it or not. Most of those pictures are accurate, people are enjoying being back in office and most of them realize covid isn’t something to fear unless you aren’t vaccinated. BofA is moving forward and will lead the way into ending the fear of this virus, other than people who ignore the science of this vaccine. Until covid, this company has never fully embraced work from home, why would they keep it if it actually does hurt productivity? A fact that is blunt if you look at any productivity report. They aren’t even laying people off, they are just returning to business as usual and accepting the loss of employees that want a different style of job.

@1hjv+1cInFFdx The point is many of our jobs are fully functional remote and there is no value added by being back in the office every day during a pandemic.

It's different for schools, where kids cannot receive the same level of education remotely as in-person.

The whole point of this forum, is to give us an avenue to vent our frustrations. Tell me why is it necessary to force back office non customer-facing employees to commute into an office every week day for a job that can be done anywhere with an internet connection.

If students can return to school you can return to work. Welcome back, stop complaining, nobody is forcing you to work at BofA.

To @OP+1cInFFdx,
I agree with your point. The days of Edward R. Murrow, David Brinkley, Chet Huntley, John Chancellor , Sam Donaldson, Hugh Downs and Howard K. Smith and publisher's who put out a quality product no matter what the consequences are long gone. Publisher's don't want to rock the boat with companies that buy the advertisements anymore.
