Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Is tech operation moving from Colorado to Lone Star State?

Just heard the rumor from some one, Schwab is planning to move its tech operation to lone star state?
They also said it part of cost cutting and lob consolidation.
hopefully it just a rumor .
I am not sure about it, does any one has any idea on it?

Expect Omaha location to be drastically reduced, if not eventually closed. Former TDA people that Schwab does not want to hold on to.

At least in the technical areas, the best leaders are in LT. Top-notch educated promoters of talent. I would never want to work for anyone else but these all-stars. Incredible.

To the person who is in Golden and commutes. You should really push for WFH, I know another person on my team who lives in Larkspur who got wfh due to their distance from the office. You are a lot farther away than that. But I feel your pain, I am the only one from my team in CO that has to go in the office.

they won't close those Lone Tree offices - unless they sell the buildings - they have two many $$$ invested in that real estate. Also, why won't they move the ALM people from Lone Tree to Texas - they really make the bucks!

@rkg+1qPVTkZj Get over yourself. Legal ca--abis has nothing to do with it. People smoked before it was legal. Code went down because people found better jobs.

More will move to Texas, but they want to avoid relocation and severance when possible.

The plan is for IT to outsource and this will impact IO and development.

Ya'll aren't paying attention.

  1. Headquarters moved to Westlake
  2. Layoffs definitely factored in location
  3. Plans for new building in Westlake with multiple execs moving there
  4. Specialty teams hiring in unique former green locations
  5. ...additional rounds of layoffs won't impact Texas as much as other sites. Might take a while, but Schwab is migrating to tax-friendly states like most of corporate America.
