Apart from PMs, some old timers are so-called business architects - freaking don,t know what they have been doing for decades -just milking money and not innovated anything except for knowing worn out processes.
Poor integrity as these old people want to drag on their as-s towards retirement instead of giving way to new fresh blood.

Yes, the good project managers know how to call the developers out on their bullsh-t and why they are burning though hours with no output.

In ye olden days (yes, I get that some of you don't like us older employees, but believe it or not, some of us know what we're doing), The best developers became tech leads. The best tech leads became project managers. The best project managers became account execs, etc.). At one point long ago, the #3 man at EDS, a guy named Jeff Heller, had started as a developer and worked his way up. Everyone knew and understood what the developers who built our products were doing. This system worked. As many have stated, they don't do that anymore, and it shows. The worst PMs I've had were those that knew nothing about technology, and didn't trust those of us that did. It's been sad for me to have worked for a great company, and to have stayed long enough to see the whole slide down to where we are. I guess nothing lasts forever, and I'll retire soon. But it's sad, because it didn't have to be this way.

Project managers are part of a movement too. A bowel movement.

Not as lazy and useless as "project managers" aka check drawers that can't do anything right

The technical resources that are sub workstream leads for the CEF products are the laziest people I have ever worked with. They don’t pay attention to meetings, have no idea what their team is doing, estimate insanely high hours for changes, and just burn through hours with no work being done. These people are architects or principal level developers!

I am all for the anti-project manager movement.

For the simple fact, they make horrible direct managers over technical resources. Which is often the case at Gainwell. And a representation of all the missed SLA's and inefficiencies that occur on a daily basis. Take away Excel and possibly Microsoft Project and they are utterly lost.

Enough about useless PMs. Let’s talk about how dmb so called business analysts are who do not know basic processes and act as if they are inventing new ones.

Man these comments can be so brutal. Such a lack of common decency. Anyway….working on planning and see positions eliminated from the plan in Aug and in Dec tied to WFR. Could be from your Verint tracking results but I hear they are not fessing up to that being a reason so you have no opportunity to respond or hire a lawyer. Good luck all

Whistleblowers do get 15% of any money recouped. Could be pretty darn lucrative. Millions of dollars.

Yay over 400 people a month will get canned.

So when is someone in sales going to blow the whistle on this whole unethical and illegal operation? Maybe publish an article about how Gainwell operates. Anonymously of course.

Don't worry projecties, your useless jobs will be offshored to India too. They even have a project manager (or a dozen of them) in charge of ki-ling American jobs.

The number of disparate productivity systems is a little jarring, in some projects. More time spent debating over plans in spreadsheet cells that never amount to accountable actions.

Oh no all the project managers are here downvoting the comments! You're all useless. Go back to dropping the fries and flipping the patties. You are all failures.

More project managers than technical personnel. No wonder Gainwell is such a failure.

You know they're not going to get rid of all the project managers. They are the same ones that make up 80% of middle management.

If 80% to 90% of your work experience is as a project manager, it automatically qualifies you to be manager if a department for which you have little or no real experience with.

Ever notice how every single project at Gainwell is a failure? Fire all project managers. Useless.
