Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

With Presidents’ Day off, do we need to go in 3 days?

In the stay in the know I think they said holidays will be factored in now. That means we only need to go in 2 days next week to maintain 3 days average right? Or am I misunderstanding it.

Talking about double standards …. Sastry reports to the Phoenix office. Barker reports to the San Diego office. Nason is out of Washington DC office. There are so many people throughout the org that report to satellite offices or are completely virtual. I heard there was something on the backend that even if workday/teams says someone reports to an office, they aren’t being tracked or reported on during the in office average. Essentially they are virtual as well. This whole organization is hypocrisies on top of hypocrisies mixed in with a little wokeness.

What ki-ls me is the double-standard. There is an office close to me that I can’t work from, but the head of HR works out of the Philly office, and the woman who heads up the team for all of this works in the Atlanta office. Neither of those are main hubs, but they’re allowed to stay there while they are making the rules for the rest of us.

GTFO boomer. Millennials and gen-z won’t drink the kool-aid of in office work. They realized they can get their job done + swap laundry, vacuum on conference calls, etc. God forbid a new gen figures out a better model and increase their life satisfaction.

I’m so sick of hearing whiny questions like this from millennials and Gen Z. Let me just save you time and answer all the other questions.

  • Yes, you actually need to work for your job.
  • Yes, being in the office is part of that.
  • No, you don’t have to make up time off.
  • Yes, it will impact your In-office averages.
  • Yes, when we say “3+ days” we really mean 5 days in office.
  • Yes, we are totally honest and transparent about everything.
  • No, what we promise today will most likely change tomorrow.
  • Yes, you should be working on holidays.
  • Yes, 5 days actually means maximize your in-office time including weekends
  • Yes, we expect fully obedience and unquestioning loyalty.

What’s so difficult about that?

I think the goal is to have you in office as much as you can. I mean if you absolutely cannot make it that's different story.
I personally am loving it. You know why - almost 3 to 4 hours a day I am away from my computer. Lunches, coffees, walks, chit chats, socializing. I was hesitant too but my mental health is so much better. Forget what they tell you about collaboration BS, none of that is happening. Work productivity has dropped drastically, but I am more focused on my.personal health when I go there.

“In office first culture” per the finger wagging, bracelet jingling HR ladies. You should be defaulting to in the office and only take wfh days when absolutely necessary. Don’t pay attention to all the EC and managers being remote.

Go ask this on viva engage. This site is for rumors and speculations regarding layoffs and critiquing the EC.

2/4 days is 50%, minimum is 3/5 60% so it’s safest to do 3 days this week.
