Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

GF leadership has lost its way

I don't believe there are many here who still trust this leadership and have faith that they know what they are doing. It seems like the company has lost direction, doesn't it? I don't know if I'm more frustrated or saddened by what's happened to this company which once was a great place to work.

The real problem is nobody is empowered below the CEO and CFO levels. These guys make the calls based on TB (consultant to CEO) pulling their strings. Of course, TB is a spie and is employed by Mubadala. The way things are run, not even SVP or VP get a say in how business is run, they are "yes" men and women. Of course, most of them could not find a job outside of GF since they have zero technical skills and little to no leadership skills, many are rejects from other companies. We have very bad decisions being made at the top, then the next layer of SVP and VP just go with the flow to keep their jobs and at the end of the day things are being run based on short-term financial decisions. There are zero long-term strategic decisions being made and each quarter and year GF will continue to sink under the current leadership. Of course, these execs are all paid very well but they are again treated like kids and told what to do and have really zero power at the SVP/VP level even. The CEO used to preach about inclusion and trying to blame the lower-level management about not being inclusive enough, however, the real issue is at the top there is NOTHING inclusive about this leadership team and the ship is sinking because of their decisions. However, in this case the captain won't go down with the ship, he will jump into a life raft and ruin the careers and lives of so many who were loyal to GF and helped him make his many millions to IPO the company. The only hope for GF at this point is for the company to be bought and the leadership team completely removed and replaced with folks who want GF to succeed longer term instead of focused on padding their wallets only for the short term. The ride will be coming to an end in the near future, we all better jump off before things get really bad in the near future.

Troll alert!
The a-s li---r troll from GF has been busy over the weekend with multiple comments down voting this wonderful post and the beautiful comments critical of the rejects in charge of GF! I hope the rejects would not lay him off because there are no jobs outside GF for those with a PhD in a-s licking

But they are not wrong. I would add it not just high levels of leadership but the 3rd 2nd and direct managers. The vast majority of them are terrible or have personal agendas that really impact their subordinates work. I have never worked in a place where these managers so blatantly lie to us. The whole career/employment infrastructure is all lies or mistruths. A recent previous post here discussed promotions and as it pointed out the system does not actually function in the manner we are told directly by our managers. The real question to them is why? Why tell us this is how the system works - but really it doesn’t. Just tell the truth on this topic.

To get back on topic - all our managers could have been retained by their parent companies, but they weren’t. The parent companies kept the goods and culled their herds of the bad or inept ones- creating Globalfoundries. And since then many if not most of them are guilty of terrible management choices whose summation has gotten us to where we are today. They should be held accountable and the GF logo should be pinned to them and follow them around for the rest of their careers like the scarlet letter.

But reality Globalfoundries the entity could disappear. It is as we all know dying a slow death. But the fabs, equipment, land will most likely be transferred or bought by some other company. And unfortunately these managers will migrate over. I m guessing most will get replaced after a year or two when the new owning company realizes what a sh-t-show the lot of them are. Or they get demoted in favor of their own personal. But when this happens don’t be quiet. Tell the new owners and management the horror stories and name names. It will be an excellent opportunity for them to get their comeuppance.

@2bdf

Feeding into their illness would be believing that they are genuine posters as completely different people. They truly think they can shape rhetoric and morale in an incognito form. They need to be called out that they aren’t fooling anyone.

@2tjy Just stop feeding into their illness. They're clearly not willing to seek help and better themselves

What do you gain from posting four posts, in a row, and even responding to yourself when we already know you are the OP?

As MJ would say, “Stop it; get some help.”

Agree 100% here, leadership needs to be replaced, they are bleeding the company dry and running it into the ground. Without major leadership changes, GF will not exist in 5 years!!!
