Anyone furloughed or let go from the Colorado locations have any indication of why? Are positions being "eliminated" and outsourced to other countries or is it another reason? Is it only the tech department that was hit or are other departments (customer service/sales) also being laid off too in Colorado?

Got hired in February, furloughed in may and told two days ago my position as a tech has been eliminated. At least I get a severance check I guess.

My guess is like they did at the 3 month point (email saying the furlough at this time is indefinite) you will hear something next week at the 6 month point. I believe Xerox is waiting for people to voluntarily quit eliminating the possible severance issue even though that is never guarantied these days. Xerox is arrogant enough to think people are waiting in the wings to get back to work after being dumped. Younger people may be for financial reasons only....near retirement people are just buying there time with the unemployment and won't ever considering coming back. Anyone coming back has to figure the only reason they are being asked back is the area is doing extremely bad. And what appeal does that have for anyone???

That clears up the reason then about required layoffs
Who can survive on such low numbered billions?
I’m sure the two people I know covering a contract for $18 an hour that were reduced to $15.30 will sleep much better knowing their salaries were taking food out of the mouths of Johnnie V’s children

@4msf+151GtFK4 - thats an ignorant rumor. Xerox announced a $0.25 dividend on their stock two days ago. Xerox had $1.26 BILLION in liquid cash at the end of March and $2.8 BILLION is cash equivalents. It has nothing to do with being able to make payroll.

Just heard from a non- furloughed employee, there is a rumor going around that Xerox wasn’t going to be able to make payroll. That’s why furlough came now instead of 2 months ago. Not sure how true but my source is very reliable.

Don't worry guys, this went to supporting Xerox's announcement of a dividend. 0.25 cents per share! Also we need to reward Deason for selling Conduent to Ursula. We can't let his dividend of $20 x 180,000 preferred shares miss a payment.

3 furloughed in pocket, yet the slap in the face is a new job posting in same pocket. Same day. Granted one tech gave resignation a couple weeks ago.The other funny part another pocket real close is never busy and overmanned, no one left that pocket with the furlough, maybe that’s the mgr brother in law works in that pocket nepotism anyone? Hmm wonder if the ethics Board cares doubt it. Same brother in law gets complained on all the time yet you keep the bad eggs ?

Northern Virginia service tech, furloughed on Monday. Told they were only retaining 3 techs but come to find out it was only 3 techs, for now, furloughed. Either another outright lie or another half-truth, which has been the norm since we merged. If it's about surviving, then why let 3 techs go but retain all 3 warehouse employees? I don't want to see anyone lose their job (temporarily or permanently) but if they're concerned about their customers why let 3 people go that work directly with your customers and keep 3 warehouse employees that spend the vast majority of their day surfing the web and just sitting around shooting the breeze? Haven't been happy since the merger was announced and it's gone downhill since then. Not happy I was told I was no longer an asset, but I'll be happy to collect more to sit at home and look for a new job. In the end, thanks for nothing, but headaches.
At least, since I just passed a milestone anniversary, it'll look better on my resume. Time to find a company that appreciates it's employees.
To those techs still around, enjoy those 5 hour drive times to cover for your discarded comrades. The writing is on the wall, get out while you can.

@2dod+151GtFK4 Yes. Run the company into the ground and sell off the profitable pieces to the bidder with the money that will help these Pirates make back some of their money. That became the strategy when the bank pulled the funding (oh I’m sorry I meant they ‘the economic headwinds of the pandemic changes their strategy’).

I hate it. I hate what’s happening but it’s happening. No stopping it.

After all of this we were better off with Fuji. It would have gone on as was and the death spiral would not have been as steep.

Regarding JV taking a salary cut, some companies really are ethical in their approach. My daughter works for a tech company. The higher management levels took a 10% cut, middle management 5%, which enabled the company to leave the individual worker salaries intact and also avoid furloughs. Now that's class.

This is very sad. Xerox has lost sight of the customer and the Technicians/ CSE's that have loyally supported the customer. Is this the way to run a global company!!
I do know of a opening for a technician in the Philly area for a Xerox Dealer/ Agent. They are ready to hire.

Keep in mind that most of JV comp is stock. There is much less cash than his $23-25m to reallocate to other salaries. You need to be accurate to put for a credible argument. Accuracy on this site is extremely low.

Wow. You think he actually ever cared about any of us? It was all a money grab and now that we are a sinking ship with no HP to save the company they are going to sell off the pieces to the highest bidder and come out smelling like the Corp raider roses they are. John V isn’t giving up any cash for you or for me.

Many CEO's gave up their salary during the 08/09 recession, and again during the Covid virus, to avoid having to layoff employees.

Where is your commitment to do the same thing JohnV?

Aren't we "all in one boat, rowing together" as you've said so many times in so many employee communication sessions?

I don't even mind if you keep your stock options......just give up your salary and direct it to be used for keeping employees hired, or some sort of package for those whose jobs are just going away.

Time to put your (considerable amount of) money where your mouth is.

JV made 23 million dollars in 2018. I can only imagine what the 2019 salary was. If we are all in this together and "one" company as he says, why not put some money back in and not furlough half the country of the only people keeping these customers broken Xerox's working? They should be the last people you think about screwing. As an employee who survived the furlough, as work has surely tripled since Monday, we are not happy to have to now do the work of many of our brothers and sisters who were unfairly furloughed. Cut your own salary and bonuses and learn that it is us on the bottom ranks that keep your bonuses coming.

Yep it’s true! Was Supposed to come back from STD ( which was almost certainly a direct result of 27 years as cse). I got furloughed today. Not the company I used to love to be a part of. Everything happens for a reason I guess

@1umz+151GtFK4 I don’t think I would even want to stay with ESI after this. I’m one of the unlucky ones. IF I get called back off furlough, I would have to really decide if I want to go back on the Titanic. They kept ones who could service high end production, the problem is those techs can’t service those customers and cover everything else. VA Business Systems is probably sitting and waiting for customers to jump off the ESI ship. Management has totally destroyed a good company, just trying to look good for Xerox. A few managed to kiss their way up the ladder and have totally lost sight of everything. They are trying to gain more and more power. Not hard as to guess who I am referring to.

We are just starting to get service calls coming in and now half of us are now gone (VA). Our customers are already leaving us and now we are not going to be able to make our windows (going to be days, not 4 to 8 hours). Won't be any customers to bring us back for. Time to look hard for a new job.
