Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Unionize now!

Remembering back about 15 years ago when all managers had to attend a seminar at the regional office regarding how to stop employees from unionizing. Should have seen the writing on the wall back then.

@bzjp+1ds65L0x you've presented no proof and it happens on both sides. Get a hobby and stop playing tough guy on the internet, go speak to a manager or something, Karen.

@OP+1ds65L0x. Check your facts. There are multiple historical posts on Covid on this board. And the same multiple voting box stuffer red hatter that has attacked unions while supporting the 1% on this thread has attacked masks and the vaccine on those threads.

@bxgo+1ds65L0x y'all need a life or a hobby... Union isn't going to happen and COVID isn't relevant to this topic.

To the person accusing @axni+1ds65L0x of vote stuffing. Please know that she shares her post to several of us retirees and current employees. Again, your ignorance shames you.

@9soo+1ds65L0x 5 votes on a dead topic smells of vote stuffing to me... This thread probably hasn't had 5 votes in the past 48 hours...

Go ahead keep accusing others of what you engage in yourself.

It is amusing that the observation some one made about the red hatter on this board seems true.

He does deny the obvious truth on Covid, he does harangue unions and workers based on union ills of the 1980s, and he seems to post multiple times and votes plenty in support of his own posts.

Folks. Show love for your neighbor and friends. Wear a mask and get a shot before another one of us dies. Isn't 750,000 dead Americans enough for you? How many must die for your your right to infect others?

@6aap+1ds65L0x I don't think anyone is expecting Allstate to change. They are either biding their time to retirement or are searching for new employment. A union is not going happen, but even if for some stroke of luck it did it certainly won't solve any of the problems with Allstate, it would only further accelerate the offshoring of any and all roles possible.

Besides, why try to establish a union at a sh---y employer when you can get a job with a better employer?

After all the cr-p they’ve done to the employees, adjusters and agents you’d think people would want a union here. Sad that so many who work here are completely brainwashed into hope of hope that Allstate will be like it was in 1985. Grow up and smell what they are shoveling. Your best bet is to find a good local company to work for and can these fools before they can you. If you had a union you’d have some support. Not great but you’d have more than than you have now. Watch your jobs go to Pune. Too bad you let them get away with this.

So in an era when the left embraces relativism and the #mytruth farce, they also call facts black and white when someone disagrees with them, lol.

Oh the irony of @4dsi+1ds65L0x. Pick a lane, pal.

@4kjz+1ds65L0x what you've listed are not completely fact. There are factual elements, but also grey area. If you can't see that, you're brainwashed just as bad as the qanon types.

Facts are black and white. Red hatters embrace "alternate truths". That is the problem.

@4dsi+1ds65L0x again it is not black and white. To assert it is just makes you sound like an as----e parroting the leftist talking points, making you no different from the "red hats" you seem to hate so much.

And if you truly believe those things, great, but how the fu-k is it relevant to the thread?

Folks, there's one person who votes 20+ times on this thread, and others (see Covid thread) pushing QAnon and Newsmax nonsense.

Don't let the vote totals fool you. Like most red hatters, he cannot accept his minority position or the facts highlighting that fact.

@4bid+1ds65L0x nobody is talking about COVID on this thread. Also, for the record, advocating against a union is not advocating for the 1%... Reality isn't as black and white as you're making it out to be.

If anything, your ramblings sound just as looney as the qanon mo--ns. Did you forget to wear your tinfoil hat this week? Or maybe your meds need a dosage increase.

A majority of Americans have been manipulated by billionaires and corporations into thinking that workers rights are bad and that it is right for workers to earn less compensation in real terms than they were making 10 years ago. No pensions. Worse and more expensive health care. Less salary in inflation adjusted terms. Etc. Etc. Etc.

The wealth gap between the top 1 percent and the remaining 99 percent is the largest it has been in our countrys history and historically when this happens there are genuine revolutions.

But you keep on championing the rights of the one percent. Like all red hatters, ignore data and facts to make your Newsmax points. Us adults will run the country while you folks plan the next failed insurrection and die in hospital ICUs fighting to breathe while calling Covid a hoax.

any proof that they are

  1. red hats
  2. follow qanon
  3. it's only one person?

A majority of Americans are anti union, pinning it on one demographic is short sighted. Seems you're just trying to create drama.

Be aware also of home office HR and other social media watchers of Allstate down voting all comments that are pro union and posting union hate garbage. The claims folks want a union here more than it appears. Let’s get it to a real contest and find out.

Folks be aware. There is single red hat poster who uses more than 20 sign ons that purposely posts red hat QAnon nonsense that attacks common sense and human decency. In this post he has supported large corporations and billionaires over hourly workers. He also has attacked the common human decency and the science supported merits of wearing masks and getting vaccinated. His childishness results in him voting 30 times in a single post. He is the epitome of the ill educated pushing conspiracies.

You'll never have a union at Allstate because they've already figured out how to deny it.
For instance, in claims, if local field property outside adjusters were to unionize, the net team adjusters would step in and if they were to unionize, the cat team adjusters would step in and, this is the key part: Allstate treats these 3 entities, all doing essentially the same thing, as totally separate entities, different management structures and chain of command. Every person and indeed each entity is expendable.

Red hat Red hair who cares. We just want to be treated with decency and respect. No matter your political persuasion, it’s clear insurance company’s like big blue need a Union to give a voice to the front line. We’ve been pooped on long enough. CEO salaries are up thousands of percentages no one is looking out for the workers. They just take and take. You think they’re going to give to the front line ? I’d rather pay Union dues than watch the front line be silenced.

Thank you for the terrible advice re unions. Think Jimmy Hoffa, unions are corrupt and advocating for them is a sure sign of desperation. This is really easy, if you don't like your job or the company you work for, change jobs and companies. Its a free country, at least it was until the socialists came to power.

What executive at Allstate is the voice of the employee ? There isn’t one. You are represented by no one in the executive suite. HR fights hard to keep unions away because they don’t want to be required to listen to any demands of the their workers.

It is funny how red hats attack large corporations but then attack unions which is the only way workers can balance negotiating power between the billionaires and the employees.

It is funny how red hats take more social benefit payments from the federal government per capita but are most likely to attack federal benefits.

It is funny how red hats attack political malfeasance but support the most corrupt politician in since Ulysses Grant.

Red hats are simply funny in their total lack of self awareness.

At thus point, I’d rather have a Union than keep being forced on with the lies and BS of Allstate . Keep those HR folks busy and make them fight the biggest Union uprising in insurance history! Get out the popcorn people! Would be a wonderful revolt against the tyranny of these multi millionaires. Whether it’s voted down or not would be a fun way to take a stance here. We need to try. In fact it’s the only way short off quitting to fight back against their tactics of offshoring and scheming. If the company is going to India anyway in a couple years at least we can fight as the ship goes down Unionize Now!

First, a union will never occur at Allstate. Second, unions are not the solution anyway. There is a reason that only 26% of workers are represented by unions. Unions are corrupt and by joining a union you only make the union executives rich. If you don't like Allstate, go elsewhere, it is that simple and a lot less frustrating. Plenty of demand for good, experienced Allstaters at competitors. Unions? An act of pure desperation.

Grow up! Union won’t ever happen at Allstate. They would shut down the company before they would allow that to happen - move up north where those id--ts unionize everything.

@1iux+1ds65L0x those unions work and are vital because of the fact those unions protect the interests of highly specialized positions... Where they can't really just go work for the competition without a significant change of career path...

None of the roles at Allstate fall under that same category of speciality. Plus, leadership would sooner shut down the company than allow unions to take hold.

But please keep up your efforts and waste your time and money to have zero effect while those of us who are tired of our treatment from Allstate leadership find new jobs at different companies while we're not beholden to some union we don't want to be part of.
