The reason JF wants to offer the voluntary option to low performers is so he can get out with a little extra money

@2cpf - what do you think the move from annual to quarterly PRs was about? It's to generate a "history" of poor performance quickly so they can shove people out the door. Not necessarily the truly low performing, but those who they can label as such due to other factors (EG expensive and close to collecting a pension). This is the same kind of move Jacques the Kn--e pulled when he had managers stack rank everyone so that they could cut "the worst performers", who for some strange reason seemed to be rather heavy with late career individuals who had salaries above the average due to years of good performance yielding higher raises.

Since when do poor performers volunteer to leave their gravy jobs?!

Why aren't the management teams doing their jobs, documenting poor performance and canning the poor performers without a golden ticket?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Phoebe at the Free Ford Press is too busy writing about Edsel planning retaliation against a church in Grosse Pointe Farms because he prefers abortion to protecting unborn babies.

On timing. Booted on Aug 22 and I got my severance on September 15 and lump sum is scheduled for October 15. NESC should have the docket cleared in a week or so. Plenty of time to December 1.

If Ford were smart they would just convert the pension right now and even the playing field. No more 30 year $hit. If you want to stay good luck. If you are a go to engineer and like working you can stay. No more getting let go before you 30yr milestone cause it would not exist.

What is CTP?

They can use the CTP program as a group (2 or more) that don’t have the necessary skills. To move the biz forward.

That opens the door wide open to get rid of people while trying to avoid lawsuits. IMO

It sounds to me that the information on this site isn’t clear. Basically if u have less then 8 years and there is documented coaching and counseling, you may enter the CTP program. If you have over 8 years you can choose the voluntary package or go in a PEP for declining performance.

I see that as very different then what has been posted.

Just make it clear that you have no intention of retiring for several years , but also intend to do the minimum for that period.

Well maybe a stampede is what they want. It would get them closer to that magic 8000 number that seems to have been walked back. Let’s face it, every reduction action that Ford seems to take apparently doesn’t reduce enough of the low achiever variety that they seem to have an over-abundance of.

If they really want to reduce their employee numbers open it up to all takers. Reason they won't is because there would be a stampede to the door.

What an embarrassment, Ford. This is not serious and steady-handed leadership.

I agree. Open up the VSSP to all who will take it. Get to Dec 1 and with the remaining employees, roll out a strategic reorg for the coming new year, and flush this lousy year down the toilet… Ford, get serious and pick up the pieces. It is too important of a company to be operating like this.

They may need you to work a little while longer. Finding a replacement willing to do your dead end job would be difficult. Don't worry, they will fire you next year. In the meantime, make sure you meet all of your deadlines.

Is there a news report about this package offered to Ford’s low achievers?

The right thing to do is to wait until the dust settles from the last layoff. We're still trying to figure out who is doing what jobs.

If you ever had a conservative comment or an anti woke statement you better let your management know pronto. If you have any trips coming up you might want to stay home.

In May they retired the wrong folks, again in August. Now it is time to clean house and make all the statistics look like a normal distribution. Six Sigma at its best. Holy Moses I sure am glad I was chosen in Aug under the guise of my job was eliminated. I really feel for the folks holding this once good company together.

I fear this action will stop employees and retirees from purchasing ford products ever again. Insane.

The mass email went out. The voluntary is only open to poor performers. All ll6 and above got the email.

I'm out of the loop here: Why are people saying only low performers are getting a voluntary? What got said / sent out?
