Hi all,
I know we are all in a situation as to who stands where with this company. I love Macys but I can’t help but feel like the rumors of reorganization sounds a bit like slavery. I feel like a sheep waiting for my heard master to pull me in. Can it really be that bad? Let’s talk about what we know, what we think and what actually makes sense. Here are mine:
I know: ASTS will now be called Manager of Business administration. That position will inherit AYS and maybe something else.... WHO KNOWS?!
I’m not sure if it will stay an hourly executive position or if it will merge into salaried but be sure to ask for an increase in pay.
I know: store managers had to rank executives and colleagues, which means the converted positions will be chose by rank.
How can you get rid of so many managers? Who’s running fine jewelry and women’s shoes?
I’m trying to understand the sense of it.
I speculate:
A merge with visual and merchandising... some of the rumors I don’t understand is how it would make sense to merge visual, merchandising, ops and AP in one group. Is a visual manager gonna make apprehensions? I’m confused by that logic.
What makes sense: keep store hours 11am to 7pm. Macy’s is open 7 days a week. Cut the extended hours non sense. Everyone wins with this schedule. The store is staffed better, the schedule is better for work/life balance (if you care), customers are being serviced better as the coverage isn’t all over the damn place. In the years I’ve been with this company; that has been high volume times.
