Yup, it’s starting. Several folks in my unit let go this week also. Still tallying which of them had a “minus” and which did not, but it’s been very upsetting for many.😥🫂

Yep. This person is right. Anyone who has survived will just be filing in line for the next quarterly performance review. GM will continue to sc--w their employees over until they decide to outsource and, of course, start forming joint ventures with the Chinese EV companies who they have no chance of competing against.

It’s a terrible thing to say, but, the writing is on the wall. GM will just cycle through their valuable experienced employees as bad as the Russian army in Ukraine. Same result scenario with incompetent commanders wasting experienced people.

Wouldn’t put it past them though - heard they are looking to do even more frequent performance evaluations this year. I.e. “we’re going to take every chance we can to come up with an excuse to terminate you without paying severance”. Getting similar cr-p even though I’ve been there about 10 years and always had a great review.

I'd like to see a graph of the ages.

While I do see younger people, it feels like it's weighted to 40 and above.

That's 163 new Toyotas about to be sold.

If they're doing mass layoffs by performance review, they're trying to sc--w the employees out of Unemployment by saying they were fired for cause.

Usually, the company only has to disclose that information as part of the Older Workers Benefit Protection Act during a mass layoff. They are doing mass layoff via performance firings. This is interesting. I wonder what time frame this particular disclosure is for? That day only? Or over months?
I just counted - that was 163 names.

Older Workers Benefit Protection Act Disclosure
To deliver on our commitments, GM is focused on performance management. As a result, some team
members will be departing the Company based on performance management objectives. The following
information and attached charts are provided in accordance with the Older Workers Benefit Protection
Act (“OWBPA”).

1. Decisional Unit: The class, unit, or group of individuals from which employees were considered for

termination and Separation Benefits consist of the following: Any classified employee in the INF function
who received an overall “minus” rating in connection with their teamGM bonus for 2023 (“the Decisional
Unit”).

2. Eligibility/Selection Criteria: An employee is eligible for the Separation Benefits outlined in the GM

Mutual Separation Policy Release Agreement (“Agreement”) provided that the employee:
a. is employed in the Decisional Unit;
b. is selected for termination of employment based on the employee: (i) not meeting performance
expectations in 2023; (ii) not showing significant improvement after receiving documented
constructive feedback regarding the employee’s job performance, and (iii) being placed in a
teamGM “minus” rating for 2023.
c. properly signs, complies with, and does not timely revoke the Agreement.

3. Time Limits: The applicable time limits for receipt of the Separation Benefits are as follows:

a. Eligible employees have 45 calendar days after receiving the Agreement, this Disclosure and
the attached charts to sign and return the Agreement;
b. After signing and returning the Agreement by email to gmhrpolicy@gm.com or by mail to Attn:
HR Policy, 300 Renaissance Center 35th Floor, Mail Code 482-C36-D48, Detroit, MI 48265,
eligible employees have 7 calendar days thereafter to revoke their signature on the Agreement
in the manner provided in the Agreement. Employees who timely revoke their signature on the
Agreement are not eligible for (and will not receive) Separation Benefits; and
c. Eligible employees must comply with other details and deadlines as expressly stated in the
Agreement.

4. Employees selected and not selected for Separation Benefits: The Company provides the

following charts (B1 and B2). Chart B1 lists the job titles and ages of employees in the Decisional Unit
selected for termination of employment and who are eligible for Separation Benefits subject to the
employee’s Agreement. Chart B2 lists the job title and ages of the employees in the Decisional Unit
who were not selected for termination of employment and are not eligible for Separation Benefits. All
information herein is as of 1/31/2024.

From what I hear in HR, more reductions will be coming, across all orgs. GM is going to try to reduce headcount in other ways, but in order to save the 1.5 billion in reduced salaried costs, it sounds like they will start cutting salaries by 25-30 %. As to how that will transpire, it seems to be still under discussion.

What is the "INF function"?
I didn't see anything anywhere about this.
Can anyone confirm?
