Calling a manager who is forced to fill a bargained for position during a strike, a scab is stupid. Most of these people are first line managers who have no choice but to do the work or be fired.

I hear the notification date is Nov 5th... Just in time to screw Thanksgiving up for the 70% of the company not on the RIF list...
If you enjoy your weekends off, over time after 40 hours, paid sick time and holidays, owner provided medical insurance, etc., then you should thank unions even if you aren't in one.
I think the era of unions in the private sector is nearing the end of their existence. They provided a vital benefit in times past, but with social media, jobs sites, LinkedIn, the plethora of places people can go to share their stories of bad treatment by employers and corporations, negatively impacting the quality of candidates which translates to higher pay for quality new hires and existing employees, as well as hurting sales long term. Who wants to by from a company that treats their people like crap? The Public Sector has become a feeding frenzy for unions, the public sector does not have to turn a profit, they can bleed those entities beyond city and county bankruptcies and possibly forever at the Federal level. Unions in the private sector appear to be in namesake only, corps seem to have a Divide and Conquer Playbook Union Busting playbook, and they run it play by play, slowly advancing their agenda as union membership withers.
Current management is prepared to bankrupt the company before giving into the union. The level of management greed is sick.
