Who thought it was a bright idea to cut field guys PTO. Now it’s not even close to our peers. There’s guys that help coach kids sporting events and do travel sports. And that’s where most their PTO goes and maybe a hitch off in the summer for an actual vacation. Nope not now. Going to be real fun explaining to wife and kids, dad can no longer can do those things anymore. Just fantastic.

@23t separate banks for corporate employees is d-mb. We can just wfh if sick and fine to still work. That said, not complaining cause ultimately it’s just an added benefit. Most people are so busy they barely use all their PTO anyway
@23t coming in sick still requires common sense and social distancing, and field employees can work alone most of the time. I’ve seen a few burn up all their PTO and still take call in sick off without pay… now throw this in and it’s only benefitting the mediocre slackers here for a paycheck. Some people also don’t get sick as much as others. I’d take more PTO and use it as I please.
@23t it’s a ridiculous policy. If you have flu, yeah you stay home so you don’t get people sick. People are going to be taking a full day off with PTO now because they have a headache.
@1yj Having separate banks makes so much more sense than just PTO. With PTO, people hoard their time and come to work sick. Personally, I don't want you coming to work sick - I don't want to get the flu or whatever. Stay home and get better instead of getting your team sick.
Sure, people abuse the sick time policy (I've seen it on the Coterra side), but it's up to managers to actually manage their teams and not let people get away with being "sick" all the time. Workday tracks time by usage- it wouldn't be difficult to see who is out of vacation before labor day but keeps charging "sick" time the rest of the year.
Many will abuse the sick leave. Calling in will only affect the field employees who now have to work short-handed. It’s better to have PTO so the positions can be filled for the days. People like me still come into work when sick to save PTO for the days wanted off.
Clay is a spineless sell out for allowing this one. The new head of HR should be sh-t canned and we should all do a stand down until that decision is reversed.
A thousand hours of PTO. This is my god give right!
Get back to work, slave. -Clay cackling
The smoke from this dumpster fire is so thick that it's getting hard to see any reason to stick around.
She also has less than 5 years in O&G. Her last job was at Rent the Runway. What a joke. She is building her career on the backs of employees and CG isn’t stopping her.
@ee Look at the VP of HR's history. She worked at McKinsey for over a decade and moved up to a leader. Their business model? Slash costs and recommend layoffs, then charge the company a shitload for a fancy report.
Did somebody say cut? I was always more of a stabber of backs!
What you allow is what will continue
It cut my PTO in half on what I was getting. Extremely disappointed in this new format going forward. I think you’ll see field employees rioting and you’ll see production go down from lack of giving a cr-p
Office folk’s superiority is hanging out. No appreciation for the people who actually make things run. Apparently office work is all that matters.
@a1 field guys on the 8/6 was getting 240hrs a year now it’s either 80hrs or max 120hrs a year. But, hey it’s just a finger in the eye with dookie.
What did they cut to? Are you talking about splitting it into sick leave? Cuz ya that su-ks.
