The layoffs are happening today in Melbourne, Florida. Both BCS and SAS were hit.

So called "rumor" posted 2 weeks ago turned out to be spot on.
People being walked out in Palm Bay, Rochester, Clifton and Amityville this morning. Total said to be about 300 combined.
If they don't fire enough people in Clifton for failing the "random my azz" dr-g testing, then they will have to go after IDL overages. If you're not a stoner, and not charging IDL, you should be fine.
Layoffs at SAS in Palm Bay and other locations next week (March 3 - 7, 2025) is confirmed by multiple sources within the company. This follows on the heels of layoffs in Texas. (See WARN notice for L3Harris). Anyone with too much IDL reported during the last quarter is toast. There will also be cuts to Direct Labor middle management, manufacturing engineers and operations personnel. Go ahead "Chris", keep saying these layoff rumors are debunked. Wrong again dude.
Let's hope half of Directors and up are gone. Instant DOGE gain.
We all know it won't happen, but even they know it should.
March 5th?! Can you provide any details on how you know?

I'm looking forward to another layoff. Last April, those of us who didn't get laid off got upgraded. I already know I'm not going to get laid off, so the next layoff is good news. I could use the money. Clifton rocks!
I remember the "training" thing. Whenever things were slow, we'd put 3 people on a one-person job and have w if them charge it to training. ( As long as one of them was a "diverse" hire.). We're doing that alot lately. I mean A LOT!
Every part has been shopped.
Alpharetta facility being shopped…Reliable
Not true. Lots of work in Clifton. The 2% will make everyone work even slower. We'll just give ourselves a raise with overtime. We always get our money. One way or another.
Confirmed by no one within the company. Just internet trolls.
I didn't work at Clifton, I was at another L-3 division and they would do ANYTHING to avoid having folks on overhead (or "indirect labor" which is what I suppose IDL stands for) to include really pushing the envelope of what constituted "training" and throwing folks on proposal activity. Yes those are also forms of overhead but not a glowing red flag.
One time we had a firm fixed price contract that was already overrun, so they threw a lot of people on it. Better to increase the amount of the overrun than have people charge overhead.
So yes it is very bad to be hanging out on indirect.
IDL is career opium. It feels good but, the longer you're on it, the worst things get for you. Eventually, you're addicted and completely without function. This is when your career ends.
L3Harris likes to do things like this in April. If they do, they will likely leak that info to their butt buddies in management who will leak it to theirs in operations. So you should start hearing things from your direct sometime around mid- March.
However, the last big one in April of last year caught a lot of people off guard. It contributed greatly toward the Kube reaching his promised target and kept him employed for a little while longer. And the shareholders LOVED it.
Even if your building is loaded with work, it doesn't mean you won't see RIFs.
Q: Just got stuck on IDL for the first time this week. Am I fu---d?
A: No, work with your EM and GL. High performers working IDL are sometimes more useful to their department. Longer term, still need to find DL.
