Evacuations ordered, homes damaged in Texas as rivers surge to Hurricane Harvey levels

This week’s storms were just the latest in a series of brutal weather events that have pounded the state since early April:

  1. Dozens of tornadoes have hit from the Panhandle to the Gulf Coast
  1. Some areas of the state have been pounded with softball-sized hail
  1. Months of rain has fallen in East Texas in intense spurts, causing rivers to rise to levels not seen since the devastating floods of Hurricane Harvey in 2017.

Still remember Hurricane Harvey - right before Chev Park Datacenter moved to TX - "just up the road" from Houston.

Risks cited for the relocation included CA earthquakes; now west TX and OK lead the country in earthquake count.

Chevron Park currently has lots of room to move disaster prone Houston folks to California's perfect weather/climate.

Have a nice day.

That you can affect a naturally occurring climatological sequence is indeed fake news.

May be because some folks pretend to know everything other than IT. An example will be the questions that OP has asked without actually knowing what is the DR strategy and the risks those governs it.

Why does every hate IT? I'm new but at least where I'm working we work non stop long hours on things the company does need. That any company needs. At least the people around me are smart, well educated, hard working. Come on here and people seem to think all IT should be eliminated or that they are worthless. Which may be true -- I really am new. Just doesn't seem that way where I am

So they should move to the Wildfire state because of local flooding way up in Conroe? Or maybe the mudslide area. How 'bout the earthquake zone. Maybe the electrical power rationing area or the water starved no watering your lawn region. Sounds lovely...........

What a loser. That data center was never up the street. It got sold anyway to Microsoft. One of BBs massive failures. Him and STG

Ha

Don't forget wildfires:

Mar 7, 2024 — The largest wildfire in Texas's state history broke out on Feb. 26, 2024 and quickly spread within days, fueled by dry, windy conditions.
