If there ever was an intention to dig Intel out of the hole. We are losing competent people left and right. Firstly, people who took VSP were in many cases those who have been confident that they can find another good job, therefore useful, and opted for VSP because who would want to stay in such a badly managed company with a layoff threat hanging over their heads for months if there are other opportunities to pursue. Secondly, in many cases the selection of people to be laid off in this latest round, from what I can see, didn’t make much sense. Some good teams were reduced to skeleton crews. And we all know more layoffs are coming. Looks more like desperation than anything else.

@1imb, it is hardly the CEOs who swell the headcounts. It is the predator like middle managers who are always waiting for opportunities to increase headcounts under them and build up their profile. I have seen it happen again and again at Intel.
It doesn't matter how many leaves or branches you cut off if the root is rotton.
You seem to have all of the answers. I suggest you get a job as a CEO an that way you can run a company according to your infinite wisdom.
@1caj
Kind of sort of cost cutting
It’s to look good to the market. Oh we cut X number of jobs
But the detail missing are the grade/pay levels.
10 low level techs isn’t saving Intel as much as getting rid of 1-2 VPs
It’s the money that counts
Also ELT is running around with their heads cut off. There is no planning just gut level reactions. We saw this during austerity measures last year.
These layoffs aren't proactive, they're an emergency reaction to slow down the hemorrhaging. If the hemorrhaging continues, there'll be more reactions. But hopefully, and if it's not too late, they'll come up with a proactive plan that actually works this time.
So @1zvj+1v6QHHhk is lying? Why don’t people post their new job ls? What’s the big deal? Also help rest of us find new positions
View this as a cleansing process. Control the weight on your shoulders. Engage with coworkers in meaningful dialogue. Produce more than you ever have. These acts alone will make you stand straight and project the confidence necessary to conquer the world.
Even after this round of cuts, Intel is severely over staffed compared to it's compared to its rivals... Just show how much excess hiring the CEO did in swinging for the fence with the IFS Field of Dreams.
Not everyone who took VSP needs another job.
Cuts are strictly cost driven. Nothing to do with functions or talents or skills.
Ok that’s great my dude. Where did you end up? Which company?
@@dga+1v6QHHhk BS...everyone that I know that has left including myselft have found jobs...more pay, better responsibilities. The best AND brightest have already left..ONLY the losers are there now...
Haha they be confident but none of them have found or landed their next job. Not a single one. I saw 200 or so of them on LinkedIn - and there was way way more. Not a single one has found a new job. So it’s good to be confident but also be realistic. No one wants to hire a former Intel employee. Down vote all you guys want but it’s true. It su-ks but it is true
