My boss was told by her EVP who she was laying off on the Thursday before.
She was not in the discussions of who it would be and was told they sent the names through legal HR in July.
She did her layoffs and then told us remaining in group we were not affected in the August phase which was not reassuring of course.
This did not begin until 1pm NY time bc she wanted LA based employees available

No, it's not weird that some people in those positions don't know what is happening. I know my team will have layoffs; I still need the confirmed number. A lot of scenarios have been worked on. We are still waiting to hear the final numbers, and I don't expect to get them until late the week before. [The way things have gone this week, I half expect to be laid off myself.]
Seriously, stay strong, everyone, and try to have a relaxing weekend.
My direct is a director and only found out a few days before that they were safe from their SVP and told me Tues am that I was not impacted
They have known since July the people affected
my group lost directors and VPs as well as others and it was business as usual even future planning
SVP and EVP know who's being laid off especially if they have folks reporting to them and I personally think they played a role in deciding my group -target salary reduction was given by the CMO from the CEO
That's what was relayed to me anyway ... always a grain of salt I suppose

You are aware your are laying off folks? Is it weird if someone is in a leadership position Manager or Director and have no clue what’s happening ?
I've not heard anything about 9/3 or 9/10, and I know I have the misfortune of laying people off in September. I'm told it's 9/24, and I don't think anything has changed. If I hear anything, I will post it.

P+ only had 3 layoffs including CMO. I assume Dom D the head of steaming marketing did it. I am sure a lot more to come in September.
