Thread regarding L3Harris Technologies layoffs

10/17 is here. Post your roll call on this thread as the layoffs happen. Good Luck.

This date has been kicked around for months. Now it's here. Already posted were comments about Santa Rosa, Greeneville and Alpharetta. Other sites will be getting some tough news this week.

Email from 10/23/24 :
“We continue to evaluate opportunities to drive efficiencies, reinvest in the resources available to our workforce and maintain our industry-leading investment in technologies to satisfy our customers’ most critical missions. We made the difficult decision that a reduction in force was necessary to ensure the long-term sustainability of our business. The action completed today impacted approximately one percent of our segment. This is one of many stops to continue to align operational costs with our strategic objectives. I appreciate your hard work, understanding, dedication and continued focus on our journey ahead.”
Company word salad for "here we go again".
Calculate what 1% of the workforce means in people. This is not a small number. And, it's not over.

1% (about 400 people) let go yesterday at multiple sites. More to come. Not BS at all.
Stop kissing azz and start paying attention.

So the prediction was 5 days late but it still happened. Don't be surprised if the layoffs are not restricted to the former AR business. And don't count on the number staying at 1% either. It's time to stop sipping the Kool-Aid and accept what is happening to this company. No one should feel comfortable with their job security at L3harris right now.
Not even you.

Nothing happening in Clifton yet. No mention of layoffs. Just some personnel house-cleaning. Underperformers, high absenteeism, over-salaried underworked people being weeded out. Seems like the slackers that have been under the radar ever since COVID and being weeded out. You should be happy if you're not one of them.
Nothing to see here folks.
Just go back to work.

The dude from Clifton definitely got fired. PIP was unsatisfactory. He was not close to retirement. Just lazy.

Sounds like you got fired, partner. I've never heard of a layoff
without severance.

They did that to some folks who "failed" their Performance Improvement Plan (PIP). By some strange coincidence almost all these people were eligible to retire immediately.

I'm in Clifton. I just got the word. I'm scheduled off tomorrow. I won't be back Monday. My job ends today, and my benefits end at midnight tonight. No severance. I will be eligible for unemployment benefits and COBRA which I cannot afford.

Still here for now but noticed that all three of our managers have a meeting at the same time at noon.

Guess we’ll know shortly after lunch.

Don't know about layoffs, but Alpharetta sent out letters around a month or so ago letting certain people know they were being moved to IDL charging only. Typically when you are moved to only IDL charging that means you're being primed to be let go. We'll see if any of that takes place.

Good luck tomorrow at Waco and Greenville
Just remember better places then L3Harris
Rumor is around 20% production control
also rumor is January they have sub contracted
facilities out they will start phasing them week to week
And around 80 more on the 17th
Time will tell if Waco and Greenville will last
