Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

How many are seeing a therapist or on anti depressants or other dr-gs?

I am on Paxil and it keeps me from cursing out and or punching the a-s holes that I work with. I was seeing a therapist that was recommended to me by on older exxon employee. This therapist treated workplace dysfunction and a lot of exxon employees. It makes sense that there are therapist that focus on exxon employees only. He knew all of the nasty dirty tactics employed by exxon and others. I finally stopped seeing the therapist when I was financially secure and did not need the pay check anymore. I know many who drink, smoke mari jane or take pills to deal with this sh-t. I knew a gut who was so out of it on medications when the engineer jumped his as and debased him he would just smile. There is no joy or appreciation for the dregs of exxon.

Back in the 90s an employee freaked out threatened an engineer. They sent this guy to treatment for anxiety depression and anger. He spent 6 months away getting help. He got paid to get help. He talked through the problems at exxon.
Another had anger problems and was verbally fighting with everyone. He was sent away and completed anger management. He came back and was on medications. He did not like the way the meds made him feel and the s-xual disfunction. He started acting up again and told me he hated they way he felt on the meds. He then stated there was nothing wrong with him. Exxon sent him away with pay and told him he would have to take the medications if he wanted to stay employed. His response was f uc you. They could not fire him as he was still under treatment for anger problems. He continued getting paid until a notice was delivered to him several moths later.
Another person said the chemicals were making her sick and the company was forcing her to work under dangerous conditions. She stayed home for a year paid until they gave her an ultimatum. She chose at that time to retire with full benefits. She was over 60. Now I don t know they will do. If you are sick and being treated for mental problems you are protected to a point. Make sure you have documentation with MOH not the supervisor. Lots of mental cases at exxon. This place creates them. We were not born crazy exxon has made us through years of systemic torture and mental anguish.
I have not gone crazy yet but they are putting the sc--ws to me. I think a year off is nice then retire. Here is what to do in a meeting say something wild like you are all against me, or this place is gonna ki-l me. Totally wig out. For those that need a year or two treatment is not bad. It beats coming into this he ll hole everyday. I think we should all do it. I might if they keep f ucking with me. Let it out and say what you feel as it is a relief. Good luck staying sane at this place.

Exxon does not protect those with “mental anguish” or “mental illness”. They push them out.

@2pax The only person you can ever fully trust at work is yourself.

Have one or two solid colleagues who can make a problem go away, but don’t think for a second that you can ever confide in them. This isn’t really trust: it’s just using people on a deeper level.

@2tej+1vRkKztI Same! There are so many toxic people at EM that it's easier to keep track of the ones I trust, as there are only two in the entire company. Sad, really. It didn't use to be this way. Just counting my days to retirement. Hate this place!

They can say exxon or oil companies but cant say who they treat. No names of the patients. I wont divulge my therapist because of smart as--s and spies at exxon. I trust no one except my old friends. My sh it list is long over 30 names. My trust list is short only 4 at exxon. An older worker showed me their list and it had over 50 names on it. These 50 were the ones who made the bad list at exxon. Kind of like a s hit list if you know what I mean. Exxon should be happy we get help instead of doing something else. UHC NYC. So let us have or meds and therapy as it is better than the alternative.

No therapist is going to say they have other XOM patients. That's unethical and likely illegal.

If you don't like your job, quit.

@1yud+1vRkKztI schizophrenia and stress are not the same.. you can quit a stressful job, you can’t quit being schizophrenia that simply.

Karma is a B iatch. I worked with a person who freaked out in the 90's. He said he could make it anymore and the pressure was too much. He had a nervous breakdown. He left for few months and we coved his work. We would do that for one another back in the day not like now. The engineer in charge and yes back then we worked directly for the groups we were in . No worthless supervisors back then. This supervisor was a typical white conservative christian man. If you did not know this exxon only hired white Christians who wore white dress shirts back then. This self righteous a hole belittled the mental employee and said they were weak and could not handle the job. The engineer said the employee was not exxon material and should have been fired instead of getting help. They further said that is what was wrong with the country and that we baby employees. The engineer suggested that the employee use God to help themselves and pray to cure themselves. This guy was a real self righteous piece of s hait. Eventually the employee comes back to work and has found a treatment that s works. It was a mix of medication and therapy. The employee made his 35 years and retired.
Now for the payback. One of the engineers sons was at a college up north. A very religious university. One day the engineer had to fly up to the college and attend to the son. Months passed and the engineer and his wife both had to retrieve the son. Initially the engineer was vague about the sons predicament. Later we found out the son suffered from Schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. The son was acting crazy at the university and doing insane things to students. The son could not work and had to take his medication every day. Once the son did not take the meds and went crazy in the neighborhood. Cops were called and he was arrested not shot dead like a minority. So now the son has to live with them for the rest of his life. Once talking with this self righteous POS we mentioned if the prayer or gid could save his son. The engineer rebuffed us by saying his son has a true illness and persons that cant handle the rigors of work at exxon are not sick just lazy and take advantage of the system. God really works in mysterious ways and karma is a bi---h.

I cannot give out my therapist's information. He was my personal therapist and others that worked at exxon. His caseload is full as well and is not accepting new patients sorry. The only way in with him is when someone leaves. It was good to go to someone who has knowledge of the toxic culture at exxon and other work places. Don t go through ehap useless. In got the name from a co worker who found this guy over 25 years ago. If anything it helped to talk through the feelings and keep us calm. One person wanted to quit at 45 year old the therapist tol them to think it through and calmly make decisions. If this employee would have quit they would have lost millions in retirement. Exxon would have been happy to rid themselves as the employee was not performing well due to bulling and an aggressive demeaning boss. So yes taliking about it is good for you. My life partner and friends were sick of me constantly talking and complaining about the treatment at exxon. For the comment about just comming into work and not feeling or shutting out the toxicity and being strong it does not work. It will manifest itself at home by taking it out on significant others. I was always asked why I was in a bad mood after work and what was wrong with me. So it will affect you and you can bury it but it will come out some way. So find a therapist that is familiar with work place toxicity, dysfunction and you will feel much better. You can also get a prescription and zone out. The bonus about the prescription is you will be protected by MOH. Exxon dose not like to fire sick employees as it looks bad and could lead to a wrong full termination lawsuit. One person I know was going through a divorce along with the standard exxon toxicity. He was so medicated that he would just sit at his desk and stare. Interactions with him were very calm and passive. He was protected during this time because of documented mental anguish. I wish you luck and find someone to talk it through with or a medication that helps. It can feel like there is no hope and the only way out is to quit but don't do it as that is what exxon wants. I am ok now because I am NRE and financially secure. I was worried in my 40's and suffered horribly. There is help out there. I made it and so can you.

@OP I don’t ever let a job get me to this point.

I’m not trying to say that anyone is weaker/stronger. I don’t believe in that BS. I just view the employer as a means to an end. As long as my check is deposited, IDGAF if the place falls apart or burns to the ground. That keeps me stress free.

I tried to find a therapist in 2020 via Ehap but couldn't find a good one. I could certainly use some help. Can you share the therapist name/website for the one that specializes in workplace trauma/ toxic job syndrome.

This guy is right --> @1hfc+1vRkKztI

It took them ~ 7 years to fire my a55. I would curse like a sailor, tell managers I wouldn't be doing what they asked, etc. I never degraded others or did anything that was r4cist, s3xist, etc. That's just not my speed. But you want to talk stupid and ask me to do something that is illogical - nah, man. I've got better things to do with my time.

Again, took them roughly 7 years. No meds needed because I got things off my chest as they happened. I suggest you do the same. Meds fuq with your body, bruh.

I take a trip on shrooms 1 month. It is really therapeutic for me. When I return from the trip the feeling of gratefulness last for 2-3 days.

If you need medication to work here, you need to quit. That’s absurd.

Yep. I had to go on Effexor a few years ago. A guy I know retired because his wife was worried that he’d as--ult his supervisor & end up in jail.
