Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

When is next layoff

It’s not a matter of “if” it’s “when”. Sabre has been laying off almost every year since it’s existence after spinning off of American Airlines. They have not profited 1 penny in the last 4 years. There losses have decreased from over $200 million per quarter to $70 million but they are still bleeding with no end in sight. Their debt will continue to grow until bankruptcy is filed. The current greedy and arrogant leadership is at fault.

New layoffs are happening now. I know several people who were affected… including myself. I’m glad I no longer have to be part of such a toxic work environment and culture. If your salary is high and you are based in Southlake, your job is at risk… sad but true.

Wrong! KE is worthless and will end up bankrupting the company and stashing a lot of millions in bonus money in the execs pockets.

Layoff soon appears not to be needed now. With this last Cull the prospect of a recovery is looking to be more probable. Finally getting FTE down to workable number. Still not sure that some leadership positions should be eliminated or at least changed out.. KE might just pull it off…. Hope so

Good point @1yte+1tTdFf7P . So what are the Directors, VPs, SVPs in USA doing when all resources are in low cost locations? It is also not about the location, the workforce in low cost locations is extremely deficient in knowledge and experience. You cannot compete with 1A with this low quality resource pool.

While there is VSP and talk of layoffs, it looks like Sabre is recruiting in the US with a salary close to 150K USD. I do not understand the logic at all.

US based contractor cost is 100-130$ hourly. Poland 45-80$. India 25-35$. Do the math.

Sabre is heavily invested in cheap unskilled labor. I am working with a contractor in india who works 14-16 hours a day. In case you are wondering why you are getting laid off.

US based employees watch out. Sabre has hired and promoted low cost resources including contractors. Few are good, however most of these cheap resources have ZERO airline or technical experience. Sabre is pretending to compete with 1A using this inexperienced labor force. There is not a chance in real world Sabre will ever come up with a viable next gen product using this cheap labor.

Layoffs will happen later this year. Hopefully multiple directors reporting to directors and VPs reporting to VPs will be laid off and the people who actually do the work will not have to end up working 16 hours a day to cover for those who are let go.

VSP was the layoff. It was only available for US based employees. VSP has not and will not help the sinking ship. Layoffs after Q3 to ensure the E-Team is able to get their million dollar bonuses.
