@1yoq - serving the masses (which is in Ford’s historical DNA) does not apply to EVs. Look at the data. The masses won’t adopt them until the infrastructure is in place and they are at a price point that people can afford. Plus the technology needs to improve if you are serving the customers in the cold weather markets (serious batter drain) or areas that are prone to flooding (batteries catching on fire)
Ford is again trying to play catch-up. First they dump their car programs, then jump full throttle into EV's, eliminate experienced ICE talent, lose billions on EV's, then try to make up for losses by pushing hybrids which they are behind on. Hybrids use ICE engines and are very complicated. It's a cocked up clown show...
I am surprised EVs have not caught on more for 2nd car, runabout town vehicles. Probably too pricey still.
Alternatively, charging stations are becoming way more common. Why pay for the maintenance of a gas engine when you can charge at the grocery store, restaurant, or Buccees?
People love BEVs. Especially since Biden's second term will start taxing them on tailpipe emissions.
