The new ABU PDR shouldn't be trusted and has no care for others. KS is known for spreading rumours and underhandedly slandering folks based on prejudices. PDR should give constructive feedback to staff instead of berating them and mocking them behind their back.
Keep an eye on the Ops PDR as well.

I am shocked to see the ABU PE PDR continues to undermine employees and cultivate a fear of retaliation against those who don't bow to him. He should prioritize listening over speaking when engaging with others. His poor leadership is very demoralizing.
You stand a better chance of decent PDR representation if you hire ChatGPT.
The PDR is only a layer of cover or a buffer, as already mentioned, for management to play friends and family or pull the diversity lever when it comes time to promote certain people. The PDR only provides the appearance of fairness and unbiasedness. The truth is our system for promotion and advancement is broken and corrupted.
PDR = Pretty Damned Ridiculous
I tried to set up a meeting with my PDR for this PDC only for him to tell me that he's not my PDR anymore. All the reshuffling done in IT resulted in nobody knowing who their PDRs are, and the PDC is just a game of roulette.
so many position in the IT pdc and the pdrs and job owners barely know about what they are.
This is a very apt description. The amount of totally wasted time is insane. Just managed move the hioots and be done with it.
I’ve come to know that the PDR is simply a person who acts as a “buffer” by management to shield them from blame or legal liability when it comes to putting the people they want (or were told to place) into a posted open job position. The PDR was invented by Human Resources and allowed to exist by the Legal Group. The PDR has the preordained task of sinking your job application from the start or presenting on a silver plater the candidate that will “successfully” earn the job position. I’m not naive in telling you this. I’ve been around for 30 years and am well attuned to the subtle and ever-changing things taking place in Chevron.
HR PDRs are a joke.
@1yfe and @1xgv, both correct. PDRs for the masses are expat managers or psg 27's who have accomplished absolutely nothing in their careers (ask around!) and are just hanging around until another vacuous country manager position opens. Many are long-since failed high-pots. Presumably they're in that position because they have an intimate knowledge of their function and who would fit best where. Of course, that couldn't be further from the truth, they're basically yes-men for the GMs and there to provide the illusion that somebody cares about your career development. And yes, high-pots, as members of the "secret society" within Chevron, have their own PDRs, ones who are never identified and can't be bothered to work with the commoners.
JG says jump and SF goes “how high?”
The "good" PDRs are reserved for the HiPots and GM's favorites. If you are interested in a job that no one wants or isn't considered a stepping stone position then you have a chance at getting that spot. If this is news than you have been way out of touch as this has been going on for years.
My experience over the years is that virtually every PDR I know is a failed scientist or engineer, or re-patriated expat nobody wanted in their BU.
What is a PDR?
In SCM, does not matter how good or bad you PDR is. Seems that all decisions are made by the the upstream GM.
most of the IT PDRs are horrible too. mostly because they don't know their employees, which is the whole point being a PD(Representative). It's all fun and games when you have a "nice" PDR until it's about representing you for the next job and they have no idea who you are.
Getting a good PDR is as rare as finding a Sasquatch in the Washington State forest or a Yeti in the Himalayas. Good luck.
+1 ABU PE PDR, the bloke is real crafty and pushy.
