Remote work could be why you lose your high-paying job | Fortune

True for me. Manager asked me to document all my processes and procedures.
Next thing I remember was being escorted out like a stranger after double digit years of my best work.

We should be cutting our ties with India since their leader has become so pro-Putin, pro-Russian. India is not our friend.

To the TM question if they can outsource it to Serbia, yes is the answer. There are TM’sin Serbia managing branches not in Serbia. NCR will outsource any job that can be done remotely. it’s like McDonalds outsourcing the order takers in their drive through.

Do those atm CE’s realize that ATMco is taking the network business along with financial?

The CE’s fortunate enough to land on the retail side are going to be the “winners” in this split.

NCR lacks communication and we have been told barely anything regarding the upcoming transition. As a CE you think you’re relatively safe but who knows. As someone who can run network calls I would think that helps me as several ATM CEs don’t want any part of it. They can let me go I’m ready if it comes down to that. There are a lot of other jobs that can be done remotely and of course NCR takes advantage of that to save money as do many other companies.

Future mindset. You don’t work for so an so. You work “with” x-x company. You work for yourself and your family. Times have changed. You don’t owe them anything. I documented my standard procedures and fixes to share. Any thing else was documented in a personal paper notebook. I started this back in the 2004 after seeing the layoffs of the 2000s. It amazes me it has never stopped.

I sure hope you had the sense to leave some crucial stuff out of the documents? I couldn’t believe an account manager called me 3 weeks after my GTFO day called and said they were having an issues where sometimes it worked sometimes it doesn’t. These higher ups think one issue has a fix by one procedure. As you all know that is not the case.
Example was a time they called and stated a flash drive won’t boot and was complaining about the field technician. All I said the procedure right there and it works it should work as documented. But it could be some other issues and since I don’t have access to customer site I was no help. Not that I woulda told him the answer was corrupt image on the device he was trying to create it from.

You are a number with a cost. NCR excels at sending jobs overseas with little regards to your experience or loyalty. While this is true for many companies in general. NCR in particular are experts in this field.

Any job can be done by anyone, employees are just a number. Never expect you are special. When they don’t need you they will get rid of you without a huff or a puff.

Nothing new. Any job that can be done virtual can be off-shored to India or anywhere else for a cheaper rate. Why do you think NCR has spent $$$$ on opening centers in India, Serbia, etc. The game plan for years has been to off-shore everything and they have slowly been working on it. Look around at all the NCR foreigners living in Atlanta taking US jobs, they are not US citizens. The American company NCR no longer cares about US workers.
